Because poor people and foreigners eat this shite up and because the other two movies suck. Star Trek's $70 mil. opening weekend was considered a flop, and deservedly so. Formulaic bullshite deserves to fail. Sadly, as another poster has stated, the "Fast" formula has a wider appeal than the Trek-style formulas.

I may give 4,5 and 6 a shot. I can appreciate a mindlessly fun movie. I liked 1 and 2 hated 3, those of you who seen them all how do they compare to those?

That Thursday release is not always a good thing, especially when your movie sucks. It gives everyone all day Friday at work - the place most people get their news - to read and hear about how bad it is.
With a Friday release, people go into their weekend comas and are less likely to hear about how bad a movie is.

I haven't seen Fast 6, but my two least favorite Fast movies are 2 and 4. 5 was okay, but not great.

Fox is the most watched news network. American Idol, NCIS, and Dancing with the stars are the most watched TV shows. Avatar and Titanic are the highest grossing films of all time and FF6 made 100 million this weekend. It all makes perfect sense.

Because you're not stuck up about movies and can take them at face value. See that a movie can be for entertainment purposes only. Some movies are deep and make you think and have some serious plots and force you to use your brain. Others are made purely for entertainment (Shoot 'Em Up - love this movie).
