and here is the problem. as long as we continue to consume this garbage then they will continue to do these things we disagree with.

if you don't like that they are trashing the Snake Eyes character (which they are), then don't watch it.

I agree with what your saying, but I also do not believe that remaking a story trashes the original or ruins your childhood - that is just stupid.

ill watch it cause I'm a sucker for good martial arts movies - it just doesn't feel GI Joe to me is all.

I'm disappointed that they just completely seemed to have trashed his story from the comics. i will watch it, but it doesn't come across Snake Eyes to me, aside from name only.

I really wish this trend will stop

Hollywood is taking beloved characters and writing stories that never would have seen the light of day in the original story arc.

The Tom Clancy characters are a great example. Multiple shows and movies that completely disregard sacred cannon

where the hell did this come from? if you want to invent conversations, go right ahead, but you look a fool.

Regarding remaking a story not trashing the original, well logically that is indeed what it is doing. The original story IS the content. Creating your own story and background and then just slapping an image of an established character over it is simply a selling tool, and it is absolutely a trashing of the original.

If the original story is discarded, it is trash.

the ruins your childhood part is just a general message that people like to toss out to reboots, re-imaginings and so on. it wasn't directed to you or anything said in this post - just a general musing.

and I do agree with what you are saying - what I am saying is, I will see it cause again, i'm a sucker for a decent martial arts movie - but I do not feel it is a GI Joe movie - no matter the wrapper it is in.

Lol I wasn't going to be the one to say it. But this is their own story and using GI Joe as a marketing tool.

Still may be fun though.

This is SnakeEyes pre and post op btw. He has gone without the mask before. For sure not Asian though.

see I remember old school chopper crash, face burned comic story - if what you posted is the route they are going, then i can see what they are shooting for and rescind my statements about trashing the history
