I don't even have finish the thought, do I? I don't think I have as much disdain for another written character.

I'm on S1:E2 for the 3rd(?) time.

Skylar is nothing compared to Kim Bauer from 24.

I was okay with her being the damsel in distress in Season 1 because her story was directly connected to Jack’s objective.

But in Season 2, she had nothing to do with the main plot...but Jack still felt obligated to divert his attention to rescue her.

Sorry, I don’t mean to derail a Skylar White bashing thread.

I've never watched a minute of 24, but no worries.

I’m not as high up on it as a lot of fans. It’s good, but very repetitive with lots of filler episodes. Even the Emmy award winning Season 5. They stretched the “each episode represents a whole hour in one day” premise to the brink. Skip the seasons after 5.

Skylar is annoying as frick but on a rewatch I noticed how much of a dogshit person Walt became incrementally so I’m giving her a pass

Walt’s biggest mistake was not settling down and being Fring’s cook and back-stabbing Gale.

With Fring and Gale, Walt had everything he had ever wanted after years of sulking for selling off his interest in Gray Matter technologies.

He was a millionaire with job security and an intellectually interesting job environment with Gale as his assistant. Plus, he wasn’t involved in the murdering part of the business (that was Fring’s end). Plus Fring was so far off of the APD and DEA’s radar, it was very unlikely they would ever be caught.

I've always hated Marie more than Skyler, and I'm surprised more people don't agree. I thought Skyler reacted normally to the things going around her, and then she agreed to do the practical thing and launder the money; why doesn't she get credit for that? Marie OTOH had annoying personality issues and was a PITA the whole time. She wasn't as prominent in the story, but her character only served to annoy.

I'm glad Betsy Brandt did Life in Pieces later, so I didn't have to forever associate her with Marie.

Gus was only using Walt to teach Gale. Gus would have disposed of Walt once he was done.

I always thought Fring was going to kill Walt once Gale was up to snuff. Walt was more expensive and had already screwed up by associating himself w/ filthy drug addict Jesse.

very much so. He viewed Walter's lung cancer as a convenience.

The only thing he never accounted for was the lunatic that Walter actually was.

Been a while since I’ve watched Season 3. I thought Fring’s deal with Gale to “learn as much as possible as soon as possible from Walt” was set up AFTER Walt had back-stabbed Gale, brought Jesse along, and Fring had brought Gale back toward the very end of the season.

Like Fring was upset with Walter and looking for a way to cut h him loose by having Gale take on full cooking duties.

Have always said this. She’s easy to dislike and I get that, but the extreme amount of hate Skylar gets on here is unwarranted

Janice put a couple slugs in Richie, convinced Tony that Ralph was a psycho bitch, and tried to get Bobby to let his nutts drop.

She gets a pass for me.

Perhaps and a fair point. I'd rather align with a girl that would lay down in traffic for me.

I get Walt put her in a horrible position but once she took part in money laundering for a meth manufacturer she loses that pass and giving away Walt's money to that idiot Benecke was beyond forgiveness.

I have to give the actress and the writers credit. The acting and writing was so phenomenal that it made me hate the actress herself.
