This thread is a great case study for people that can put their emotions aside and study the facts vs. those who can't.
The FCC did not stick their nose in any of the other cases being listed.
The Tucker stuff was over a defamation lawsuit filed against Fox News by another private business Dominion, not the government.

Is the FCC not allowed to investigate a situation to see if it violates anything?

Yeah they are, but they cant say if you get rid of this guy we wont investigate it haha.
It was a violation or not a violation regardless if Kimmel stays or goes.
Maybe the FCC had no influence on the Kimmel firing, but they definitely inserted themselves into the conversation.

quote:The timeline says different. Zero outrage from Nexstar and Sinclair until Carr stated that it was up to the affiliate groups and that firing or suspensions are options or he would do it the hard way. The podcaster tweeted that Carr was threatening action to remove Kimmel. THEN Nexstar was outraged and moved to remove Kimmel.
Maybe the FCC had no influence on the Kimmel firing

Good thing they didn't say that.

Again: the FCC took literally no action here. Zero.

Wrong. Broadcasters don't move quick enough for this to be true. These people weren't all sitting around watching random interviews to figure out Carr's thoughts on the matter.

They were in contract negotiations and ABC wasn’t gonna pay Kimmel. The more info that comes out about this the more it looks like a work.

Yep. Disney is more than happy to let the Trump admin share part of the blame so the useful idiots will act like they're heroes when they try to bring the show back.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Kimmel goes into the podcast space or maybe even something on HBO. Anytime a leftist causes a controversy HBO gives them a show.

Every article about this says they were already talking to Kimmel about how to mitigate the damage from this. Every single one. Your timeline is simply wrong. You are wrong.

Yep, there was a very good chance he was going to lose his show before this happened. Show was in decline and he wanted more money, ABC wasn’t gonna pay him. So he pulls this stunt, after ABC says don’t do that again, Kimmel tells them F-you so they suspend him. That’s what happened

Exactly. No one at Disney made decisions based off something said on the Benny Johnson show. I bet they didn't even know about this before they were in talks with Kimmel about his lies.

Just scroll through HBO Max, I can’t believe anyone would even argue against this. …. But then again these people are just shamelessly dishonest.

I've noticed whenever conservatives or Republicans get riled up about something it's always "fake outrage". Whenever the cultural Marxists start shooting people, burning cities, or destroying culture they're "on the right side of history".
