My sister has been in love with it since forever, but I’ve never seen more stations start to play it on TV and Facebook/Pinterest stuff on it til just a few years ago. Is it because SJP was hot in it?

I thought this movie looked dumb when I was a kid and so I never gave it a chance.

Therefore the whole phenomenon confuses me.

I know if I watch it now it won't work.

It’s because all the millennial basic white girls who grew up watching it are older and feeling nostalgic. FWIW I think it’s a good little Halloween movie.

It's a fun Halloween movie that kids can enjoy with parents.

ABC Family needed a Halloween "classic" to call their own. Kinda like with TBS and A Christmas Story.

Disney...uh...finds a way.

Seriously. I saw this movie, as a kid, when it first came out and then years later Disney Channel just decided to jam it down everyone's throats.

It’s been one ofDisneys most popular franchises TV wise for a while

Meme culture also picked it up a couple years back and now it lives on as reoccurring material for twitter/Facebook etc crews to use every October

It’s a great Halloween movie with good atmosphere and nostalgia factor. Harkens back to the pre-cellphone days of trick or treating when there was a thrill to having your parents trust you to go out on your own or with friends to score tons of candy in an old pillowcase. It has the same look and feel as all the old 90s sitcom Halloween specials and the Disney Channel movies like Halloweentown and Don’t Look Under the Bed

Theres a 50 something dollar Blu-ray or a 9.95 Korean dvd.

Only the packaging is Korean.

But we're sitting the kids down and making em watch.

Since they found away to market the nostalgia it has with people who grew up in the 90s and now have their own kids to make it the A Christmas Story of Halloween.

Freeform coming out with 31 Days of Halloween this year was just the beginning, Halloween and the entertainment that comes with is fixing to get the extreme commercialization that Christmas started getting 10 or so years ago and is gonna be rammed our throats to the point that it starts losing it’s luster/magic a bit. They just can’t help it.
