Folks.... I watch a lot of movies and I understand that Hollywood and the movie going auidience have an unwritten agreement that the audience needs to suspend a little belief.....but this stinkeroo flies in the face of all 3rd grade logic, the script sucks, the characters are two diminsional and too many.... It just looks like a cheap 50s sci-FI that kids would ride their back to see at a Sat matinee. Will Smith is a genius

People are surprised a sequel to a bad movie from the 90s is bad.

Other than the scale of the destruction, which had never been seen before, it's just not a very good movie at any level. The script is bad, the acting is bad, the cinematography is bad. It's pretty much all bad.
don't get me wrong, it was my favorite movie when I was 16, but then I grew up.

Summer tentpole popcorn films are right up my alley, and even I have no desire to see this movie.
I heard that Fox held a screening for critics the day AFTER it premiered to the general public. The movie critic whose podcast I listen to said he had never in his life heard of that happening and it was a massive red flag. Fox basically tried to hide the film and hope people would show up in droves Friday night before fans and critics could lacerate it the next day.

we should be able to allow ourselves to just enjoy movies like we did when we were kids and not have to analyze every little thing
