With the movie having been out less than 24H, you might want to edit your post, at least for now.

Saw it.

It was meh. Fight scenes were good but weren’t that many really. Not a great story. Was expecting much better.

His GF ends up becoming a freaking pro with the bow and arrow after training for a day. Freaking dumb.

Felt like it was about shang, his hf and his sis. Not Shang Chi.

Wait for it to come out on disney +

Katy wasn't his GF. She was his best friend from Middle School

The Ten Rings/Mandarin kidnapped Tony. It would make complete sense in the timeline, for a teenage Shang Chi sent to kill Stark, because his Evil Dad told him to.

Or they should’ve shown the hit he actually did. He’s The Living Weapon.

Again shitty fan fiction.

Then again you do watch AESJW so it makes sense.

What? Lol. Why wouldn’t they? They were cleaning up the campus when Cap dipped out at the end of Endgame.

Thought it was a solid mid range MCU movie. Probably in the same tier as the first dr strange. Kingsley stole every scene he was in

I will say Just Like the other new avengers Black Panther and Captain Marvel, Shang chi is a Remarkably forgettable character

Just saw it. It was fine. The climactic fight is the same reason why Transformers movies are so lame though. The hell do I want to watch two CGI dinosaurs fight for? That shite does nothing for me.

Overall a good origin story, mid-tier Marvel movie.

I enjoyed it. It’s middle of the pack for MCU. Certainly better than a lot but not near the best. I agree 100% about the final battle. I wanted way more between Shang Chi and his father. The dragon and soul eater are cool but I couldn’t help but wonder why the frick I was watching them battle it out when it would have been cooler just to see Shang Chi do it himself or to just have him and his father continue to fight

Really my only complain other than I don’t feel like we got enough of Shang Chi. Simu Liu is great and he outshone everyone else other than Tony Leung.

Also bonus question: is Shang Chi going to be using the 10 rings? If so, that’s badass but isn’t he more known for being only a martial artist in the comics?

Are we not gonna talk about how old and grey Mark Ruffalo is looking? Can this guy still carry the role?

They are, in my opinion, setting things up for Jen to be the primary Hulk. (In the current comics, Jennifer Walters is no longer She-Hulk; she's just Hulk)

I thought it was really good.
Much better than I expected it to be. I’m watching Marvel movies at this point because I’m hooked and I’ll just keep watching them even if they’re bad, but this was really good.

The fight scenes were some of the best I’ve seen. Little slow motion stuff. They were moving.

And, I know Awkwafina gets a lot of grief here, but I thought she did a great job.

I enjoyed it. I felt the CGI battle at the end was useless but it was nice to see in the theater. Fight scenes were great. I think Simu Liu has more acting ability than what he showed. This reminded me Hemsworth in Thor. He needs the right script to shine.

If you watched Orphan Black, you know that Tatiana Maslany is a top tier actress in terms of pure ability. Great choice to play someone who breaks the fourth wall worse than Wade Wilson.

It’s not often I think a performance in a comic book movie is memorable or worthy of notice outside of some comedic purposes, but he was legit great.

****spoiler****

Shang-Chi says in mid-credits that his sister is dismantling their father’s operations, but in actuality she’s taking over it and making it 21st century.

Nothing exciting.

****end spoiler****

My point was that I have no interest in a female hulk no matter who is playing her, but Hulk is basically played by an old butch woman now anyways.

And there are two reasons why they are doing female hulk. I just wonder what reason why they will champion: 1. Girl Power or 2. Character rights.
