Starts tomorrow on Netflix

Do yourself a favor and watch it.

Think Game of Thrones type fantasy.

This is season 1 of 3, 8 episodes the first season.

Book 2 and 3 are longer than the short Book 1 of Leigh Bardugo classic.

Alina Starkov is the lead character.

Some of the YouTube critics I follow were given early screeners and have nothing but good things to say about it. I'll give it a watch this weekend.

Watched this on this rainy Saturday morning/afternoon. Honestly, I came away pretty impressed. The romantic stuff is a little cringe, but the characters all have decent motivations, the villain is sympathetic enough, and the world is cool. I liked that the magicians weren't all powerful and regular people with guns could fight them on fairly even terms.

Will watch season 2.

I recognized the dude from WestWorld during the trailer. Looked decent.

No idea what this was about save for the teaser on Netflix.

Started watching, and wondered where it was going. Still don't know. I'm assuming there's a book, or series, but as for the show itself, very well done so far.

It is very similar in look to Carnival Row, from Amazon. Has that turn of the 18 to 1900's steam punk vibe to it, is I guess how I'd describe it.

Lead actress is easy to watch.

I thought it was a fun watch.
Didn't know it was 3 parts to the first season.

When does the second part come out?

Solid, but definitely not the next GOT.

Feels a little too Disney for my taste. Could use more sex, violence, edge, and adult content.

GoT had all that, and still ended up a dumpster fire.

Good character development and story telling doesn't NEED that stuff.

Definitely has a Carnival Row feel, wonder if the second season of that will ever appear. Enjoyed both of these.

I'll probably get down voted a lot but I didn't care for it. I'm not saying I disliked the show but it sure didn't hold my attention. I found the acting more like people reading their lines with a lot of artificial emotion that wasn't convincing.

I found the story muddled and inundated with a lot of fantasy tropes. This show was pulling from several Sci-Fi/Fantasy shows to the point that I spent more time playing the "Which tv show/Movie did they get this from".

I would have like to have seen mature actors in key roles.

It will be interesting to see what type of staying power this show has.

This was pretty good. It reminded me a bit of Carnival Row in terms of building a new fantasy world. The actor that played Billy Russo from The Punisher makes a good lead shite stirrer and the special effects and overall production value were pretty good.

It did have a few issues, they throw a lot at you in the beginning just overloading you with the background, and the last episode of season 1 you need to watch at night with all of the lights out. It's as bad as that episode from Game of Thrones where most of the episode is too dark to see the fight.

I’m 4 episodes in and lost as frick on the world and geography. I really wish they’d do an intro or scene where they go over where all these different locations are.

Other than that I think it’s pretty good. I like the whole Russian Empire feel.

Same here as for being lost. This is so similar to Carnival Row. Nondescript armies & nondescript reasons for war without any map or understanding of who is fighting who. If I didn’t know any better, these two stories could be in the same universe.

The only thing missing are fairy hookers and Minotaurs

I just finished it. A little too much romance for me, but overall, I really enjoyed it.

So I tried this last night and only made it about 25 minutes in before I fell asleep.

The production value looked strong but I was confused as frick as who any of the characters were, why there was a war, why there was some shadow ream blocking off some part of the continent or whatever and generally anything that happening and why.

Kind of frustrating. And the actors seemed to be playing children in adult bodies. Maybe that’s the meh acting ability though.
