Dumb and Dumber 2 comes to mind. Zoolander 2 as well. Had they been made when they were still popular two years later, the magic wouldn't have been lost.

Major League 2

6 whole years went by between movies, yet the team was preparing for the "very next season"

The wait between Fast and Furious movies is unbearable

Almost as long as the wait between Saw movies.

Indiana Jones 4. I mean if such a thing hypothetically existed.

Tron Legacy. Almost the perfect case study for this phenomenon because of how they age-regressed Bridges using CGI.

Beautiful visuals otherwise, that could never have been done had they not waited so long, but that uncanny valley really jumps out at you.

zoolander 2 was awful.. dumb and dumber too was hilarious and alot like the first one. Problem is, people dont find that humor as funny anymore. They need sex jokes and naked people for it to be funny

Star Wars A New Hope. Only 20 years passed but made it seem like Jedi and Republic were ancient history.

Not sure the time difference would help some of these movies... Anchorman 2 was legit awful.

The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. Lucas should have made these in the 90s - love for the characters would have compensated for Lucas's shortcomings. Then we could be in the middle of a kickass Prequel Trilogy today.

Lucas had no interest in making a sequel trilogy, so it's pretty moot. He didn't want it to be made at all, but that much money was impossible to pass on.
