Just got got of seeing it and couldn't find a thread on it. Great film. Honestly thought Colin Farell was the best part of it. Was extremely surprised by his performance. Probably won't get a nomination but he deserves it.

Saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Paul Giamatti was really good in it too.

Her hate increased over time. At the premier, she cried because her work was on the big screen. But by the time she was old and they wanted to put it on broadway, she had them put in the contract that no Americans could be involved specifically naming the Sherman brothers.

Of course, it was likely the Sherman Bros songs that make the whole thing memorable in the first place. Some people just don't get that some work can be improved.

saw the movie and then went to wikipedia to read about it. same thing I did with Bonnie and Clyde---looks to me that a few liberties were taken while condensing it, however, it was very watchable

Wife and I have been wanting to see this. Me - because it looks good. Her - she's a Disney freak and loves Mary Poppins. Is this something kids (around 13) could/would like?

I wouldn't call it a kids movie. If they know and like Mary Poppins then maybe. It does reveal a great deal about the creativity behind the movie.

The bitch was crazy, I am surprised they made a movie about this topic honestly. No one would give a shite about Mary Poppins now if it wasn't for Disney.

Saw it last night and absolutely loved it. She was a huge bitch. Acting was great. It was good to see Brad Whitford in something good again, can't remember the last time I saw him in a good role. Colin Farrell was awesome. Just a great movie.

That said, this isn't a kids movie. The plot and themes are far too mature for anyone under 15, IMO.
