Another one?

The Kevin Costner film, the BBC series, Robin Hood 2010 (aka Gladiator 2), etc.

So good. Cast was awesome.

Robin Hood Men in Tights is better than the other ones.

I don't do Robin Hood remakes since the Kevin Costner thing ... although Men in Tights was funny.

But I don't do Jamie Foxx either. He was great in Ray and great in Collateral and DJango ... but we ran into him up at Devil's Lake, Michigan last year and he's an arse. Made me step back and reconsider whether I was a fan or not ... and I decided I'm not.

Nothing we did. We're around celebrities at our hangouts from Hilton Head, Charleston and Pawley's Island to The Hamptons, Aspen, Sun Valley, etc., so we've always honored their right to privacy ... plus they just don't interest me that much. I've never been star struck. But my close friend's lake house (we go up a couple of times a year and will be headed back this year for the 4th of July week) is a couple of houses down from Katie Holmes' place which is right next door to her parents' place ... we've seen them out on the dock and stuff. We saw a little girl approach Jamie at the local little corner market and say hi to him and giggle ... and his reaction was out of line.

Not a fan.

Jamie Foxx is 5'8" and slim. Are they going to CGI him bigger or just eliminate that part of the joke?

Why does Hollywood seem to have absolutely lost the ability to bring these old established stories to life? They've failed so hard the last few years.

Is it because they refuse to just let a director and script writer make a movie?

Too much studio oversight?

Too much studio input?

It seems lately that most movies are all spectacle with little attention paid to story and character development. But look at basically any movie called a "classic" and usually it's because the characters and the story are great.

You can sacrifice some visual effects and budget. A great story will make up for it. As will a great character or performance.

But brilliant CGI or scenery will rarely make up for lack of story

He was great in Rogue One. I'd bet he plays the role of Sheriff of Nottigham really well.

Ah yes, the memorable role of Director Krennic. Really stands out among Star Wars villains.

Looks very similar to the recent King Arthur movie that bombed at the box office. Why is Little John black? Why do he and Maid Marian speak with American accents when the movie is set in the British Middle Ages?
Seems like they are trying too hard to make an “edgy” Robin Hood and getting away from the legend. I think I’ll pass.

Is this a thing in other versions of Robin Hood? I don't recall seeing one where Will Scarlett is married to Maid Marian. That being said, the only two I know by heart are the Kevin Costner and the Disney versions

His full name is William Scarlett Ohara. He's from Georgia.

Seriously though...

Errol Flynn and Olivia De Havilland's Robin Hood is the Godfather-Citizen-Kane-Lawrence-of-Arabia of Robin Hood films. They need to stop making more of these.

Men in Tights is the GOAT Robin Hood Movie.

Would you like to know why?

Wait, is Jamie Foxx really using a Molotov cocktail? Something that wouldn't be invented for another 900 years? Is Robin going to use some glocks while he's at it? Is this a remake of Men in Tights?

This is going to be awful.

There has to be an AI robot making these trailers at this point right?

I swear every movie I see has the same trailer.

Loud music slam.
Stupid voice over that starts mid sentence about some nonsense.
Offscreen character introduction quip line followed but close up of main character.
Slow motion camera pan
Silent break.
Loud music sting returns to a few smash cut action scenes.
Music fades out.
Voice over returns.
Loud music sting with a title card.
