I feel like they dropped the associate churches leaving story pretty quickly. They had the shoe throwing scene and they all quit, but we never really saw or heard the consequences of that unless I missed something.
And if they thought that would be the series finale, they accidentally set up next seasons storyline with Gideon then. It's going to be great watching the 3 siblings, especially Jesse, get super jealous of Eli spending time grooming Gideon to take over the church.

I was just thinking that Judy’s school nemesis could come back in season 4 and be the antagonist. At one point I was thinking he was that shitty rock star that got fired from guitar center. Also Stephen Dorff is too big a name to have a throw away story like that.

Just curious, do we know why Mae Mae was trying to kill Amie-Leigh in the opening scene of the season? Was it just due to Peter getting arrest and Mae Mae blaming her?
