Had no idea he was an LSU grad.

He would fit right in on the OT

Never heard of the dude but wish I had. Sounds like the last critic with a pair of balls.

Yeah, but he also liked balls, if you know what I mean.

Basically his whole career was a being a bitchy gay bully to EVERYONE from Frank Sinatra to Marisa Tomei.

It's ironic.

But yeah, a bit of a legendary character in the movie critic sphere. He's the type of gay where everyone knew he was gay but no one cared.

That is some game show royalty right there. As a kid in the 70's I knew that there was something different about them...a little more "silly" than everyone else

Yes a LSU grad. He was proud to be from LSU. You can argue one of the most famous journalism grads ever from LSU and most famous of all LSU grads.

Yeah he was gay, but so what. He was gay and no one cared and he was so good at the wise cracks and criticisms of films. He called Nancy Sinatra a pizza waitress.

NY Times Obit. Gift article.

After Siskel & Ebert left At the Movies, acerbic Reed took over with good guy BIll Harris and the show's tone shifted dramatically.

My favorite review was Louisiana boy Reed critiquing The Big Easy. He gave out a description of Dennis Quaid running through New Orleans, "dodging bullets and logic."

RIP but I almost always hated and disagreed with his reviews. Admittedly, I am not sure I have seen a single review of his since the internet blew up.
