Anybody check this out last night?

I really enjoyed the first episode. Had a number of good laughs while also being more of a drama than I expected. Won’t spoil details about the plot, but I like the conflict they set up between the alien’s mission and his interaction with the people in the town. Should make for an interesting season, looking forward to episode 2.

Sorry if a thread already exists. Didn’t see anything posted, but the search function is trash so I might have missed it

Watched it today. Enjoyed it. I’ll definitely check out the next few episodes to see where it goes.

I checked it out. I agree with you. More drama than comedy.

SPOILER

I think it was a mistake to make him a murderer. How can I ever like this guy now? I’d like to give Syfy writers the benefit of the doubt, but besides Warehouse 13, there aren’t a lot of success stories.

SPOILER

I mean, his assigned task is to destroy all of earth. Killing isolated individuals he meets in the name of immediate survival certainly make sense for the character. And if that is to precede what I assume will be a slow, growing appreciation for the human species that ultimately leads to an internal struggle on whether or not to exterminate them, I can get past the initial murder and root for him to find redemption in saving humanity.

Now if he’s successful in killing the kid, then yea, I suspect I’d have different feelings on that. But the initial murder didn’t take me out of it too much. I can still root for him personally.

Was back and forth with it and the Pels game but I liked it. I'll always stop when I see Alice Wetterlund.

I enjoyed it, like others said it was a good mix. I don’t ever see him killing the kid but I think hijinx are going to be abound with him trying.

It’s on cable TV - syfy channel

Sorry, I’m basically an old man, my default position is still to just (incorrectly) assume that everyone else is also using cable haha

That really was a good show.

SyFy is pretty notorious for cancelling good shows because they realize they are too expensive to keep making.

You’re right. The premature canceling of so many shows wasn’t about writing.

Yeah you’re right. I’m assuming that’ll be the outcome.

I streamed and watched E1 last week and enjoyed it. Recommended to a coworker who then watched it with his wife and they liked it.

Somehow I ended up watching E3 today and E2 did not show up. E3 should not have been available.

Without saying too much, E3 involved a body part and the lake, the mayor's son, a late night party, then a revelation regarding an adopted child.

I later found E2 and emailed a link to myself to watch it later today when I get home.

Not as enamored with the second episode as I was the first and I'd like to punch that smartass kid in his smirking little mouth.
