I think it was a good film but a shitty bond movie

Why do people keep acting like directors write the script or something?
If you didn't like the plot, that's not Sam Mendes' fault, especially with a large movie franchise like Bond where they're not going to give full creative control to the director.
Skyfall, while I didn't think was a great movie, was shot beautifully, had terrific cinematography, and the overall acting performances were good. Mendes did a great with his job on the movie.

There were plenty of disappointed reviews both nationwide and on this site.
Very very false. Almost universal acclaim accept for the typical contrarians on here.

I figured they were going to sacrifice more time in order to sign Nolan.
I'm more concerned with John Logan writing the film than I am with Mendes directing. Say what you want about Skyfall, but you can't honestly say the directing was bad. In fact, I think the directing made up for the subpar writing.
I liked Skyfall, but the story was far too simple for a Bond flick. Not to mention it lacked many traditional "Bond moments" (ie Bond using his intelligence to get off tough spots and killing the villains).
Perhaps Logan will deliver a better story this time around, but I'm not going to allow my hopes to get high. Hopefully the producers will hire two writers to polish the script, rather than giving Logan full control of it.

I'm a big fan of American Beauty and Road to Perdition, but Skyfall was meh IMO. Not bad, but nothing special either. Maybe he'll do better with his next Bond movie.
ETA: Maybe it wasn't the directing that was wrong with Skyfall. Maybe it was the writing. For whatever reason, though, I didn't particularly like the movie. And I usually hold the director responsible for whether I like a movie or not.

Nolan's Bond is gonna be a mindfrick

i'd like to see a Nolan take on Bond but not as much as I want to see an original film from him

Truth.

That'd be strange. The Tarantino Bond film would be 3 hours long, rated R, with some sort of Samuel Jackson cameo, and Christoph Waltz would be the bad guy.

Tarantino's Bond would set the record for N word usage.
