In any case, this when thing is weird. They are basically writing off the original character, and the new chick will be the new main title character. If thinfs didn't work out with original actress, why not just find a new actress that's still write and look close enough to original actress looks wise, and keep the original story rolling.
I never watched the show, but I'm just imagining of how many story lines they had to completely throw away on this show that were being developed.
Oh yeah. A lot of what they set up has been loudly flushed down the terlet. They went all in on Ruby Rose and it bit them on the butt.
As for the new actress, she is certainly easy on the eyes and she can't be worse at playing Batwoman than Ruby Rose. Rose not only looked horribly uncomfortable in costume, she was painfully frail.

It's not just the CW. There's a top-down effort by literally all that are in control in Hollywood to force the diversity agenda on Middle America. Over-representation of LGBT characters, biracial couples in commercials, overtly homosexual content in television series and movies... It's all meant to make people in the majority feel like they're on an island to themselves, and need to get with the program because their line of thinking that Traditional Values are the norm, is wrong.

The original actress left the show. But they aren't just changing actresses, they're changing the whole character, which is going to cause issues with the world building that's been done to this point.

The original actress had no idea what being a lead character in a weekly one hour drama entailed, and wanted out.
There's a slim possibility that casting a new character instead of a new actress for the existing character leaves the door open for Rose to return in a smaller fashion (on Batwoman or one of the other connected CW shows).

And that's him next to Peter Parker. He looks like he's black to me, just not as dark skinned as Rocket Racer.

In all honesty... they should have promoted that actress to the lead role (via the whole face transplant thing) and had her play Batwoman.
Yes, having your lead play the hero and the villain would have been a giant pain in the butt. You do it for a couple of episodes then do a face transplant thingy and put someone new in the role of Alice.

I don't think Kate Kane was originally, but then they made her Bruce Wayne's cousin in the New 52. Because reasons? I dunno.
