Better than expected and a great performance by Hanks as usual. Had some great shots of the ships and overall operation. As for the shaky camera, I noticed it at the beginning and it was kind of annoying, but I got used to to it quickly. It's also a tad but long, but there's a lot going on, so it's whatever. Highly recommend checking this out if you are on the fence about it. And NOBODY can frick with USA

I want to see it but I saw on TV this morning where the crew came out saying that the movie is bs and everyone hated Phillips and he was the one that allowed them to be captured

Said it was 80% fiction

Still want to see it

Interesting. I wasn't really interested in the historical accuracy of the movie going into it, so it is what it is.

I'm going to pass on yet another Hollywood recreation of history.

I'll wait for the Obama movie. I'm sure that one will be accurate.

No -- only PART of the crew is saying this. The same part of the crew that filed a lawsuit almost immediately after the incident. The debate has been a 4 year court battle with two very differing opinions/sides. Again, not all of the crew is saying the same thing.

Captain Phillips was interviewed and said himself that the movie takes certain liberties here and there -- but for the most part, it is accurate. He said the most inaccurate thing was the intensity of the situation -- the movie does a great job but really doesn't come close to the intensity in real life.

Sorry -- no link to his interview. I can't remember what TV show I saw it on.

As for the movie -- I enjoyed it. Great story, great acting. Who gives a shite if some of the people involved are suing the shipping company because they feel they are entitled to lots of money because they got boarded by pirates.

Some of that is his own fault. He initially said he traded himself for the crew and when that assertion failed scrutiny he altered the story.

This is a compelling story without the embellishments.

Speaking of Hollywood BS, whatever became of "The Butler?" It seems to have just fizzled.

Well most movies are 100% fiction, so I don't really care
