Is it worth the investment? I have Showtime for free with my Spotify package and I’ve always considered starting it, then moved on to something else instead.

I really liked the first few seasons, then seemed to drift away from the best aspects of the plot and dragging out unappealing aspects. Been meaning to pick it back up but not even sure when I fell off.

Season 1 and 3 are great. I gave up after S4. It was really bad.

I've enjoyed the series, but it definitely goes up and down and back up.

Ray donovan takes on almost the exact story life as most of showtimes popular shows did. Weeds, Californication, shameless, nurse jackie, dexter... excellent for the first 2-3 seasons but really drag after that. that network just loves a slow and steady death it seems

So watch seasons 2-3 and quit or decline to begin at all?

Are you referring to the current season. I kind of lost interest last season but I’m willing to catch up if it’s good

It starts out with a good premise of a Hollywood fixer then degenerates into a brooding character wrestling with his alcoholism, philandering and daddy issues. They didn’t stick with the original storyline very long and it suffered.

First 2-3 seasons are good, next 2 seasons are sketchy, 2018 season is good and trends up, 2019 is better than good. I would try it, if you don't like S 1-2 move on. Jon Voit "Mickey" is a great character when he shows up, but I quickly decided I would really like to beat his arse. Then again, that's his persona.
