Shining ($11.99)

Full Metal Jacket ($10.99)

2001 ($12.99)

Set of 3 for $29.99

Clockwork Orange ($10.99)

Spartacus $10.99

There are a ton of great deals on physical media right now. Too many to link, but lots of major movies in 4k (often with ditigal) for $20 or less.

Do you have one of those neato tree things in the corner of your room to stack and show off your DVDs and CDs?

I catalogued my movies several years ago. Literally just simple excel spreadsheets though. Nothing fancy. Did it with all my physical media (video games, vinyls, etc). Only thing I didn’t do was my old tapes/CDs. That’s one area I don’t really value physical media too much.

The 4K’s for the Shining and 2001 are mind blowing how great they look and so much detail. Cannot wait for whenever Eyes Wide Shut gets a 4k release

Yeah I need a list for insurance purposes. I have a lot of rare blu rays and my 4k collection is pretty big. 4k seems to be the limit of what home media can do, so I don't think I'll be adopting to any future formats.

I'm doing title, director, genre, format. Maybe year of release.

My streaming is a mess. Between Amazon, Vudu, and Youtube not permitting between the 3, I have to keep track of the titles exclusive to each provider (to avoid forgetting and purchasing). That's just going to be title, format, and provider.

I also have a rule now where if I own a Bluray (or better) version of the physical, I can't buy a streaming version. The database would help there.

I'm debating upgrading 2 Kubrick movies (2001 primarily) to 4K. Even though that's a steal (and I already have them streaming in 4k), I don't think the increase is worth it.

I bought Dune 2, Training Day, and Departed 4k (all with digital codes) today. I don't own any of those in Bluray and none on digital. I'm not sure if I'm buying much else. I did see a good deal on the first 2 Bad Boys (with digital) and Lost Highway Criterion 4K is only $25 (usually it's 35-40).

I need to think about the specific movies that I have owned in progression from VHS to DVD to Bluray to 4k. I'm sure some exist.

I had a massive VHS collection back in the day. Back when that was important for foreign and obscure movies.

Then when rental places went out of business, I bought a metric shite ton of movies (especially foreign and obscure )

i have the VHS version of Blade Runner; the VHS 'Directors' Cut', the LASERDISK (will pull it out and take a pic if intersted), DVD, "Deluxe" DVD, HD-DVD and "limited edition in a metal tin" BD. This doesn't cover the CD soundtracks, VESPER edition CD, Vangelis double-CD re-release..etc etc.

i'm fricking DONE. i will never spend another penny like that. I need to upgrade my REMUX BR 4K rip on Plex when 8K or 16K comes out? ...imma click a button and make it appear.

they've gotten more than their pint of blood from me.

If I have purchased a movie in progressive formats, it's because I love the movie and love the improvements offered.

I'm not upgrading the format for DVD quality movies like Saving Silverman.

I'm wishing they would release a 4k edition of the Led Zeppelin Celebration Day concert but I don't know if they ever will
