Thoughts on Landman?

It’s a major exaggeration of the oil field, much like most Hollywood productions. For example, Billy Bob Thornton's character as a landman is a combination of several different jobs, making him more than just a traditional landman. He serves as a negotiator, investigator, debt collector, crisis manager, rig manager, and operations manager—too many roles to reflect a real person in the oil field.

Yeah, if a landman ever showed up at a rig, he’s lost.

First two episodes were outstanding. BBT steals the show. Love his character. His ex-wife in the show (Ali Larter) is a smokeshow.

I think about my friend, GT, who was a land man for years and I’ll be damned if I can think of a tv series based upon him driving around East Texas and southwest La. In his Chevy Impala…

“What dontcha want?” Hell or High Water nailed it. Watching that scene was like my Grandmother came back to life.

Perfect explanation. I worked as a Landman in the Permian for 5/6 years. No one ever kidnapped me and put a bag on my head. They should’ve cast some other actors to do the other jobs. Still would be far from realistic, but would’ve made more sense.

First two were alright. Like all his shows the overall storylines are boring. Havent figured this one out yet, but its probably underwhelming too. Pena wouldve been a good balance
, too bad hes toast. Uses his phone way too mucb, its like every damn scene.

Angela: “No woman that can do the splits is to be trusted.”
Aynsley (yes, that’s how the character’s name is spelled): “But I can do the splits.”
Angel: “Except you.”

Such compelling dialogue from Sheridan. Dude can cast some babes, sure, but he’s sucked since the end of Yellowstone season 3.

Watched all 3 last night. It was about what I thought it would be with some cringy stuff in there. Ali is hot but her character is just dumb. Same with all the daughter stuff. WTF....

Love BBT but he is also a little over the top. I bet he is going to be the Beth of this show and just be too much. No idea where we are headed with it but I will keep watching.

Surprised Ali did the thing but Im happy she did

i love his "frick your feelings" attitude.

i think that's on purpose. She's just a hot airhead who married up. and raised an airhead daughter.

The son is obviously going to bang the widow. Then have to deal with the cousins.

More babes and brew is always nice.

Demi needs more screen time.

Am I the only one who noticed that BBT was using the pipe wrench the wrong way and was trying to "close" the valve going the wrong way?

Every word out of his mouth has to be some sort of pearl of wisdom. That shite gets old very quickly
