Anyone planning on going see this?

Being released next week and is actually includes BR's AMC theaters.

Trailer looks good, I'm always leery when "recently uncovered" footage is released on a famous band.

I mean, this stuff was on the Polygram VHS that was released back in the day. I watched it a thousand times.

Oh yeah.

Not only visually appealing but you are hearing music from a great (best for me) band at their absolute finest. And they knew it.

Didnt realize that. Could have sworn I saw an article a few weeks ago touting that this footage was lost in storage for decades and recently found.

Perhaps just a PR piece to drum up attention

Maybe it’s certain cuts or parts of the footage but yeah, that’s an incredible show I’ve see it a few times over the years.

Same. It’s probably one of their best. This and Ummagumma are way underrated. I had no idea they were doing this in IMAX. I used to watch it a lot when I was a kid.

Agree.

But my goodness the stuff that came after this is so big and so epic the early stuff gets dwarfed.

Thats why I love Pompeii so much, its the transition point from really good to great. They still looked the same but the music is better, more powerful.

Id love to see it, but no IMAX close to me. Hot take, but the best live version of Echoes is Gilmours Live at Gdansk version. Much prefer it to Pompeii.

Definitely going next Thursday. There's an IMAX less than a mile from my house. I remember downloading an MPEG of this via torrent like 20 years ago. Fricking amazing.

my understanding is it's the same version that was released in '72 just remastered and converted to 4K.

The version of echoes performed on this album/film is a masterpiece.

It’s an old film.

It’s just going to be better quality than watching it on a tube tv and vcr.

I preordered the blu ray.

For a very long time we weren’t seeing the actual quality films were shot in.

That’s why some of these old films in 4k look absolutely stunning.
