Useless dialogue is littered throughout QT's movies. Biggest reason why his movies are so long.
Agreed.

I hope this is good but I've have doubts.
The hateful 8 was pretty good. Django wasn't worth a shite until samuel Jackson entered the picture and basterds was the shittiest Tarantino movie since Jackie brown.
We'll see I suppose.
Probably the worst post in Movie/TV Board history right there. Congrats.
Thank you.
Look man some folks get all creamy and stick to the sofa over a Tarantino movie for no other reason than that it's a Tarantino movie.
He has made some garbage though.

Inglorious Basterds is great.

Fixed for accuracy. And I'm going to give Leo the benefit of the doubt. His movies rarely disappoint especially when he's paired with an elite director. Add in the incredible cast (Pacino, Pitt, Robbie, Olyphant, Roth, Damian Lewis, etc..) and I'll be shocked if this movie doesn't turn out to be very good.

Ok fair enough.
But that frickin' "gigli" had affleck, Lopez, walken and Pacino and that movie was a Walmart parking lot shite diaper.
I thought eight was pretty good.

I'm so in-- July can't get here soon enough.
Few things though after watching the trailers, seeing the posters and reading up on it:
-- Leo's character, according to what I've read, is based upon Burt Reynolds (who actually was supposed to be in the movie playing old man George Spahn, but when he died Bruce Dern took over the role). But if you look at the roles "Rick Dalton" is doing, it seems a lot more like Clint Eastwood-- "Bounty Law" TV series = Rawhide, the WWII Nazi movie = Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes, and then he goes to make spaghetti Westerns (though for Clint that was in the mid 1960s, not 1969).
But on the other hand, Burt WAS on Gunsmoke, and did make the Spaghetti Western Navajo Joe...
-- Brad Pitt's character is supposed to be based on Burt's buddy, stuntman turned director Hal Needham. Now that seems to work a bit better.
-- Quite a few other 'real people" in the movie: Steve McQueen, James Stacy, Wayne Maunder, Connie Stevens, Sam Wanamaker, Joanna Pettet, and of course all of the Manson family (and all of their victims).

First reviews are out. No surprise, looks like another hit for Tarantino.

More Quentin Tarantino’s brilliant exploitation black-comedy Once Upon A Time In Hollywood finds a pulp-fictionally redemptive take on the Manson nightmare: shocking, gripping, dazzlingly shot in the celluloid-primary colours of sky blue and sunset gold. Review later

To be completely honest I'm not yet sure what to make of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Need to let this one marinate, don't have an instant reaction. Most of the film is pretty good, I'm having fun watching them play around in late 60s Hollywood. Then the finale is HOLY frick.
Alex Billington @firstshowing
As expected, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Tarantino referencing other films and TV and old Hollywood and good times in the 60s. Digging into his past and showing us, through perfectly crafted cinema, his feelings about moviemaking and artists and the Manson murders and more.

More ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD: Why is no one tweeting about Margot Robbie? She's the heart and soul of this film. Her Sharon Tate is the most humane and resonant character of the entire movie. Almost every scene she's in is heartbreaking to watch.

Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood is so gloriously, wickedly indulgent, compelling and hilarious. The film QT was born to make. The world is a more colourful place in Quentin Tarantino’s twilight zone. Round two, please. #Cannes2019

I don't want to get too speculative and end up ruining the film, but from reading between the lines there is a 'wtf' twist.
And apparently some of Manson's music is part of the soundtrack.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tarantino has Sharon Tate survive the attack.

Wouldn’t surprise me if people read the spoilers and were basing their “guesses” on that.

Predictable? You knew the daughter would escape while the rest were shot dead?

I have not read spoilers at all.
Just look at Quentin Tarantino's previous brushes with historical fiction, especially Inglourious Basterds. People are talking about a twist towards the end. That tells me the twist most likely involves the attack on Sharon Tate.
