Do you think snoke knew he was going to get cut down?
And he resurrects himself in 9 as he’s done before, hence the horrendous scarring he has.

That’s probably what JJ will do to try to salvage this shitshow.

Yeah that's the problem. They did a trilogy with no cohesion and 3 different screen writers who didn't plan the thing out before hand.

I don't really see the big deal with you seeing this film three times...

But.. I will say,the movie becomes worse after every viewing.

I have to disagree. I saw it twice this weekend and it was much better the second time around. I think the first time I had all these expectations of what should happen and what questions to be answered. When those things didn't pan out the way I wanted it to, I was disappointed. But then I stopped being a judgmental fanboy and just watched the movie and it was really good. Was it the best Star Wars movie, no, but it was a good movie.

I think the two burning questions fans had were, who are Rey's parents and who is Snoke? Rey's parents being nobody mirrored Anakin's backstory. His mom was a slave, pretty much a nobody. Although Anakin was conceived by The Force, who's to say something similar didn't happen with Rey. Also, do we know who Yoda's, Obi-Wan's, Windu's or any other powerful Jedi's parents were?

Snoke's backstory is not important. Did we know The Emperor's backstory in ESB and ROTJ? No, all we knew was that he was evil, corrupted Anakin's mind, and in charge and that was enough. Snoke was the same, but he just died earlier than expected.

I think a lot of fanboys, myself included, need to stop being so judgmental sometimes.

You are so full of sh*t. The pacing was all over the place, the main protagonist didn’t even show up in the 3rd act until it was over, Luke was going to die anyway so why not just have him die saving the resistance, Supergirl Leia, the stupid side quest that added an hour to the movie and did NOTHING for the movie, none of the new main characters added any depth, the jokes didn’t work.!Just forget that this movie is Star Wars and this movie is still horrible. As a matter of fact, the only way you can say this movie was good is if you were being a fanboy about it because it wasn’t a good movie. It was a convoluted mess that had a few good moments and great cinematography that couldn’t overcome the onslought of shoddy writing and over saturation of unnecessary added characters nobody cared about.

JarJar is the Sith master pulling all the strings behind the scenes. We've been over this. His incompetence is genius misconception but he's actually extremely bad arse in the movies: an explanation

That would have been so awesome.

A large portion of TLJ was dedicated to letting go of what we identify as the original Star Wars (not neccessarily the animated series).

I can see some of the complaints about Benicio del Toro's character & Snoke. But I think people are going out of their way to freak out at the moment.

Nobody has a problem with them ushering in a new group, they did that in The Force Awakens perfectly. Han went out like a Boss and Luke and Leia were barely in the film. They did it in the most absolute shittiest way in this film. It was cringeworthy.

I had no problem with Luke dying but it made no sense to trick the audience with the force projection and then have him die anyway

If it Rey's parents don't matter, don't set it up as a plot point or point of interest in Episode 7.

Snoke is different from the Emperor because this takes place after the dark side of the force/Sith were destroyed just 20 years prior. Where was Snoke during the OT? How did he get so maimed and powerful? How did he have access to Ben Solo?

JJ lobbed up some easy balls for the next director to ace back, but Rian Bleeding Heart Johnson whiffed on each one and threw tantrums instead.

Didn't work out?

Didn't you see the film? It was totally "worth it" because they wrecked a casino and set some animals free.

Wait... they didn't actually set them free; they were eventually caught again. And I'm sure lots of rich people made some money rebuilding that casino...

Yeah. They accomplished nothing.

We will just have to agree to disagree on Luke. I don't think he went out in a shitty way. With that being said, I am a bit upset that we will not get Mara Jade Skywalker or the rest of the Skywalker family tree.

Exactly, I went from cheering and forgetting the problems of the past 2.5 hours to utter disbelief.

Random thought but given that the movie is essentially one big battle/chase scene (with one or two mostly sucky subplots), I was wondering if the director was influenced by Fury Road at all.
