I don't like the idea of running superhuman zombies because it likely means one of my favorite parts of the book probably can't be in the movie. I'll be severely disappointed if the blind "hibakusha" and the otaku don't make it into the movie...and neither of them would have survived if they'd had to deal with fast superhuman zombies.

Just doesn't go well with "dead and decomposing" to me.

It can if done right. I mean zombies don't need oxygen so they can walk along the ocean floor, that'd be considered superhuman, no?

They can be shot and keep going because they feel no pain, that's superhuman.

They can lose a limb and just keep coming, superhuman and I'm ok with it.

But super strength just makes no sense, there is just no reason to think that dead and rotting meat is going to be stronger than living flesh. Intelligence coming from a dead brain makes no sense.

I have never seen this discussed but my personal feeling on this is that zombies should be diverse. Newer turned should be fresher, faster and have more stamina. Older ones still wandering the Earth should be slower and depleted much like we are seeing on The Walking Dead..maybe not as bad as this season though.

I think what you're saying is pretty spot on. Zombies are supernatural creatures. They may be walking corpses but can do a plethora of things that elevate them to a "superhuman" level.

And there is some merit to them having super strength. With our body, we know we have limits. If I'm trying to bang on a window to break it, I'm going to stop or slow down as I react to pain and my body fatigues.

But zombies can't slow down, don't feel pain, and don't get tired. Therefore their muscles don't know when to stop. It's only through decomposing that they become weaker and weaker.

Zombie muscles are dead, necrotic meat. They aren't getting blood flow or oxygen. So while they won't have limitations, they shouldn't have the strength of living being. Sure they'll put their head through a door if it means they could get at brains, but they're not going to toss a car aside just because it's in the way.

So people that don't read what rondo reads suffer from aliteracy? No.

Well no, they aren't strong enough to toss a car out the way, but fresher one can mess things up pretty good because they're unrelenting.

When dealing with a fictional monster, you have to excuse certain things that don't scientifically make sense.

You joined a conversation about a movie based off a fairly popular book....the conversation is centered around people being unhappy with how inaccurate the trailers appear to make the movie compared to the book.

Then say you think slow moving zombies are lame....which the book clearly states....ZOMBIES ARE frickING SLOW.

IDGAF if you think this movie looks good...or if you read romantic novels in your spare time...this movie is in no way related to World War Z and fans of the franchise have every right to say the trailer looks stupid.

You don't have to get butt hurt because the zombie run broseph.

And the film is in fact related to World War Z no matter what the zombies do. Deal with it.

Two things with that for me: 1. How do they walk on the ocean floor and beat ocean currents? 2. If zombies can smell you then don't they technically use oxygen? They don't necessarily need it though.

They are dead. Why would they feel it? Do you call a paralyzed person who gets shot in the leg super human?

Agreed. You need a damn good explanation to get that in the story for me.

No problem. I will warn you it's kinda slow at first and can get cheesy at times but it's still a good podcast and it's pretty cool to listen to an audio drama.

Zombies don't need to run to be scary.. The scary part is they never stop and never quit.

They die, so now they are faster?

I've never liked running zombies.
The whole point is that they are reanimated decaying flesh that has one purpose. To feed.

I understand that and can get behind it but what about freshly made zombies? The ones that may have just gotten bitten or died recently? Shouldn't they be able to run or at the very least move a whole lot faster than grave risen zombies?

Running Zombies! Huh. What will they think of next, vampires that can walk in the daylight?
