Not a great episode...not terrible either, though. I hate the separate story arcs, though. It's choppy and I really don't like waiting 3 weeks to have cliff-hangers like "who is in the woods with Daryl" resolved. Still love the show but it's getting really old to have the disjointed story lines.

I keep seeing this posted but I really hope it happens another way. The group going into a city filled with thousands of walkers to have a tiny arse gun fight with 2-3 cops and a few cafeteria ladies is just dumb. Beth should easily be able to escape with carol now. There doesn't need to be any big throwdown.

I think the biggest question is how may people come out of the woods with Daryl. Is it 3 and the Grady Memorial story line is done other than showing Carol being a badass, or is it just the new token black guy and Team Rick has to go to the ATL to trade or attack the Grady Group?
Regarding the idea that Abraham's group would somehow get dragged into the Beth storyline and have a Beth and Maggie reunion. 1) Maggie doesn't seem to care about Beth anymore. 2) The map Abraham gave Rick showed them to be near Commerce, Georgia. If they are headed to DC, Atlanta is in the complete opposite direction.
As for why Beth looked like she was about to kill the doctor, I think she was going to take him hostage, not kill him. They'd let her leave rather than risk losing their doctor.
I think the purpose of this episode was to further show Beth growing. They also showed us another potential survivor group type. While I'd agree it's not as interesting as everything else we've seen so far this season, I don't think it was intended as filler, just a poorly executed look at a different slice of life in the ZA. It's really hard to do, without a worthy villain you don't want to drag a different group out like Woodbury, but if you don't spend enough time people wonder "why are we seeing stuff happen to all these characters I don't care about?"

I do think maybe the black dude is the guy Daryl has out in the woods. Now all of them will go back into Hotlanta to get Beth and Carol. I think that Carol can then construct some killer weapon using tiny guinea pig bones and IV lines! She will have them all wiped out by the time the gang gets there.
My thoughts too.
My biggest gripe is why the hell didn't Beth go for any one of the fleet of cars outside when trying to escape?

One of them is screwed now!
I don't like the jumping around w diff characters and diff scenes. Just like Boardwalk Empire did. Its def frustrating.
To me, the most interesting thing about this episode was that a group is surviving in a hosptial of all places in a major city w so many walkers. So IMHO, it wasn't a wasted episode.

My reaction during the the final few min of the show/preview were pretty much:
Eh, kinda meh episode… YEAH, Trojan horse Carol!
Preview for next week showing that we’ll be following another story line separate from the main group for another week: roll eyes and sigh, “not this shite again”

Perhaps, hear me out now, the cops somehow run the bus off the road or take the bus and take everyone sans Abraham (remember Noah saying they left his dad because he was too big and strong and would cause problems) or the bus crashes and they come across them and back to Grady. It seems like, from the previews, Abraham loses Eugene and/or the bus.

I thought it was a pretty good episode, it's good to see Beth grow as a character, and then Carol appearing.
Now I think it's likely that Daryl is going to have Noah with him in the woods.
I spent the whole episode trying to remember where I knew "Noah" from... he was one of the regulars on Go On. Sucks that it was canceled.

He seems to have a great deal of angst about it too. Especially when he's beating the dude to death after packing his fist with a can of Roller Coasters.

Completely boring episode for me. I don't mind the alternate storyline thing, but at least make it interesting.
Love Noah though...he was great in Go On (RIP).
I won't say it's a horrible episode, but I'm just pretty meh on Beth as a character, so an entire episode devoted to her wasn't great IMO.
That being said, I hope we get back to the main group next week at least a little bit (and it not be 100% focused on Abraham and that crew), and I guess Noah is in the woods with Darryl..?
Oh, and hey, Beth...might try a vehicle next time. Jesus..

For that to be useful she would have needed to take more than one key when she was digging through the drawer full of keys

I agree about Beth getting in a car, but at least she didn't hide behind a wall of chainsaws.

What good is it going to do Beth to get in a car if she doesn't have keys to the car?
Unless she's a hotwire ninja and we don't know.

Right, but she found a drawer full of keys.
Also, I thought it was kinda stupid to attempt the breakout when they did. At least wait till evening or something...they just both waltzed right out the door with everyone sort of standing around.
I think my problem with this episode was that it felt lazy to me. Like they just threw together some ideas and nothing really worked for me, because I've liked other bottle-ish episodes that focused on other characters and their goings-on outside of the main storyline. Add that to my mehness for Beth and it doesn't really work for me.

I think they focused more on the backstory of the new people than the basic plot of the episode. I felt that in a very short amount of time we got a very good understanding of what Dawn and the doctor were all about. But would you really expect the escape plan from 2 people that would be picked last on ZA teams to come up with a brilliant plan?
One thing I am confused about is, was Beth kidnapped or did they think they were helping her escape walkers? Also, if that is an area they go to, how was the funeral home not cleared out of supplies? Was that a safe house or fall back point for them? Perhaps also a honey pot to entrap new members? Was that their dog at the funeral home? Where is the dog now?

Yeah, I never watched that one... I definitely was recognizing him from Go On.
And twice Mystery has posted something in reply to me that I can't see.
I'm just going to assume it's something amazing.

I would hope that by now Daryl or someone taught her how to Hotwire a car. Seems like something that would need to be known in a zombie wasteland.
