It is going to take a ton of good reviews for me to risk going and seeing this in theater.
What, is 10 bucks and 3 hours of your time that big of a risk? Why don't you go see it and judge for yourself instead of following what a bunch of blowhard critics think? Reminder, most of them loved TLJ.
I'm going tonight. If it sucks, oh well. I'm out $20 for the 2 of us and the theatre serves beer. I'll have fun.

This thread should have a post maximum of like 3 or 4...get in and get out. If you can't make your point in a few posts thats on you.
Anyway, I liked it alot. Other than Rogue, it was the best of Star Wars film since the original trilogy.
I feel like a few things could have ben explained better for the younger generation (like Maz giving Chewie Han's medal of bravery) but I think it does improve the watchability factor as kids may grow and "get it" more and more as they age.
The flashback scene of Luke and Leia jefi training was cool, but they looked too young to me for as old as they would have needed to be to make the most sense.
A couple of other small gripes and complaints (things I would have liked, etc - like ghost images of more jedi's either on the island or at the end) but overall I thought it was really good.
It felt alot to me like ROTJ.
Definitely saw a couple of opportunities for spin off's.

It is easily a 7/10 movie and certainly as good as the McGregor trilogy ones and possibly on par with the Empire Strikes Back.
I can’t take this board seriously anymore.

Because spending any amount of money on an inferior product is not good practice. It gives no incentive for the producer to improve anything if they can put shite out there and still make a huge profit. The blinders on fanboys are always going to go. Even if it's just a midget shitting in a bucket for 2 hours if you slap Star Wars on it they will see it at least 3 times. It's up to the thinking fans to refuse to pay for their garbage.

Is that what we're going with?
You're no longer outraged, you're just a bunch of thinkers?

You can just say you can't afford $10.
TLJ was killed in reviews from fans, yet it made a frick ton of money. They still scrambled to fix it in this movie. Only so much they can do when TLJ fricked so much up. Your little theory doesn't add up.

I was never outraged. I paid to see Force Awakens and paid to see the Last Jedi and I could recognize crap writing with trying to throw political views into a franchise that previously didn't have any. It's what non-bias movie goers do.
Just like the guys who say "team doesn't look so hot this year, no cornerbacks can play man coverage effectively, the quarterback is streaky, and the o-line is average at best. 8-8 year."
Meanwhile there will still be idiots saying the team is going undefeated and saying otherwise means you're a terrible fan.
Star Wars is at the Miami Dolphins level, you don't support until they improve the product on the field.

And TLJ got killed for that so much that they seemingly reversed course and even gave a nod to the fans that they did.

By your logic if I can afford it I should just automatically buy it.

That isn't my logic whatsoever. Don't call people dumb when you do dumb things like this.

I mean, Lando was promoted to General pretty much the moment he joined up with the Rebellion, because he was Han’s friend.

Would the internet and Star Wars worlds simultaneously explode if the homosexual kiss scene at the end was guy on guy and not girl on girl?

So is thread for people who have seen the movie infested with jackasses who haven't seen it and just want to bitch? I'm not reading through all that crap.

It isn't.
Why are you melting this hard this morning in a spoiler thread about a movie you aren't even going to see?
The only mention I made remotely close to telling someone to go to the movie was when I said people should decide for themselves, not just eat what critics feed you. These are the same people who absolutely loved TLJ.

Yep
And this lb84 dude is letting us know how much smarter and better he is than everyone else because he isn't going to see it.

I don’t even know where to start.
As many have said, the biggest issue with this movie is Abrams tried to do too much - essentially squeezing two movies, the EP 8 he wanted to do and the EP 9 that would have followed it, into two movies.
The Marvel-esque humor in the movie was very poorly placed. The biggest WTFs for me in that regard are how Abrams treated Hux’s character and the fricking “ow” from Ben when he’s jumping into the Emperor’s arena room.
The yellow lightsaber was a deep fan service nod to the OG Luke action figure from Kenner. I got it immediately.
There’re rumors of a George Lucas cut of this film out there that’s amazing. Chances are we’ll never see it.
Can’t wrap my head around the fact that Kathleen Kennedy is the cofounder of Amblin, and is this fricking awful as a producer.
