Just saw. I enjoyed it. Better than 7 and most definitely 8

I haven't watched it.
I've watched enough videos and read enough spoilers to have a pretty good idea of the plot and everything that happens therein.

Rey and Ben’s connection is what allowed them to heal
How many times have Mando and Baby Yoda Force-skyped with each other?

Nah. Rey healed a giant snake, doing the exact same thing. The connection had nothing to do with the healing powers.

just don't know how anyone can like this movie when looked at as part of the whole. The entire Anakin Skywalker arc, his fall to the Dark Side, was set in motion because he couldn't stop the ones he loved from dying. His mother on Tatooine, Padme, the fear of death motivated Anakin to gravitate toward the Dark Side and become Darth Vader. Fast forward to Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, Rey is able to save Kylo Ren from death by touching him and Kylo Ren is able to bring Rey back to life by touching her. Those two scenes completely blow up Anakin's motivations in the prequel trilogy. Completely blow them up!
Ben and Rey has the ability/knowledge to do so because of their connection to the dark side...something the jedi didn’t approve of nor allow. Which is what Anakin was in search of

Kylo had years of training. Rey just happened to run into BB8 one day and boom. Knowledge.

What connection does Rey have to the Dark side and what makes you think force heal is a dark side ability?

I saw it last night. Loved it. I'll definitely go see it again.

The ability to heal and even prevent death is something correlated with the force as evident by the Mandalorian. It was something the Jedi did not approve of as an appropriate use of for the force. It was the allure Palpatine used to try and sway Anakin to the Darkside. Rey knew no better (either does the child) Other than pure existence of the ability.

thats an awful lot of mental gymnastics to try and explain this one away.
Completely overlooking the issue that are ever present with Rey just learning crap out of thin air and being able to do it, you didn’t answer my question. What connection does Rey have to the dark side that enables her to learn this ability that has never existed before, that you’ve attributed to the dark side?

You forget she took a bunch of Luke's ancient Jedi books. I would imagine some of it was covered in there.

Saw it last night.
I thought it was the best of the recent three, but given the purpose of the movie to close out the saga, it was so rushed.
I’m not a Star Wars fan, so I don’t REALLY care, but a film is a film.
They used the force to move the movie along, and the lesbian kiss at the end seemed really icky.
C+. Nothing memorable and no attachments to the characters except maybe Ben

She’s a Palpatine nitwit.
The whole idea of jedi training wasn’t to tell young Jedi’s what power they had it was to train them so they could use the powers the way the jedi wanted them to.
I’m not going to go back and forth with someone wise while objective is to tray and tear it down. I’m sorry it didn’t live up to your expectations. Sorry you didn’t like it. I hope you find something else that meets your approval soon.
Cheers

So you're asserting that all Anakin had to do was a CTRL + F on the Jedi computers to find that little blurb on how to heal people/bring them back from the dead?
Once again...this power utilized by Baby Yoda and by Rey and Kylo Ren completely undermines the arc of Anakin Skywalker.

Having information and having the ability to use it are not the same thing.
Posted on 12/22/19 at 8:50 am to LSUfan4444
You know nothing of the Sith If you think they didn’t also have to train.
You don’t just “use” abilities.
Well Rey does. She mind controlled people from day one.
Mary fricking Sue.

I had the privilege of attending the Academy screening of #TheRiseOfSkywalker today and J.J. confirmed that what Finn wanted to tell Rey was that he’s force sensitive!

Do you understand the answer to this question now?

Why didn't Anakin think of that in Episode II or Episode III?

Thanks for stating the obvious. If I ever become President of the United States, I will need your expertise in the White House. We'll put you in a shirt that says "Dunce" on it and have you walk around the place reciting the names of the states and their capital cities. I'll have the information on hand thanks to you and I'll organize trivia games so I can effectively use it.
