Its pretty plain why he can't do it, but Ance should just tell the rest of his low life family to F-off. It feels like they're dragging him into this mess, while his immediate family seems relatively even keeled.
That lawyer is also a POS, and clearly responsible for a lot of this, at least as far as the show is telling us.
I think the tomb stone reveal as the "evidence" was my favorite scene of the night, along with Ance and his brother talking about the fox and Costner telling him that the reason it had never come back is because he had doubled back and killed it.

I wonder how historically accurate this miniseries is. Hatfield vs McCoy started over a dispute over land. I don't remember that.
I believe what this mini series is saying is that it wasn't any one issue but a culmination of things over years.

My favorite line from last night:
"You come home with a Hatfield bastard in your belly?"

After we watched it I was mounting my wife and she says "please spend your seed outside". We both couldn't stop laughin.

Looking at the long branches on that McCoy family tree, I don't think much seed was spilled.

pretty much useless,spineless fricker.
Hatfield shows him a tombstone with the other guy's name on it and he just accepts that and bows down to Hatfield... why is it any easier to believe that the document was forged but not the tombstone?

Although I hate reading into events. I much rather the director just present us with stuff he wants us to know so there isn't a lot of interpreting that needs to be done.

Well, at the time, it would be much harder to prove the tombstone was a fake, and the lawyer would know this. This was not an uncommon practice with these types of disputes.

Part One replayed tonight after Part Two. Part Two replayed after the Part One replay.

Should I watch these? I missed last night, but noticed part 1 is replaying tonight before part two premiers.
Is it worth 4 hours of my night?

Yes. Very well done. Very good acting, pretty damn historically accurate too.

awesome. I saw the previews for it a while back and got excited, but I was unsure whan it was coming on and I was on the road last night so I missed it. Will watch.

What part of WV is your family from?
I really like this show so far. McCoys hold some serious grudges. Oh well. Go Hatfields
Grew up about 30 minutes away from where this all happened. And because I saw someone bring up the Whites, im also from the same town as them. (CSB)
Really looking forward to tonights episode.

Can't let this thread fall to page 2 with only 40 minutes to part 2
