my top 3 favorite performances are
1. Johnny Depp-POTC
2. Heath Ledger-TDK
3. Johnny Depp-Sweeney Todd(he never sung in front of people before this, admits he cannot remember singing besides this movie)
I guess i was a little taken by the fact i saw the movie very recently, esp. compared to POTC

Okay, legit question.
In the beginning of the movie, was that really scarecrow? He gassed one of the fake batmen, so I am thinking it was really him.

Yup, it was even the same actor from Batman Begins.

That's what I thought.
I just found it strange that when he has them all lined up sitting against the wall, Sacrecrow is sitting with three fake batmen.
A guy that almost destroyed the city sould probably get more cautious treatment.

Yes, and it's not bad for a depressing indy film about heroin addiction.
I also have to admit that I thought A Knight's Tail was a fun, light romance flick. Not earthshaking, but fun.
And The Order (which I've never seen) is starting on FX right now.

Was anyone else disappointed that Dent/Two-Face died? I thought his character was set up brilliantly and would have made a great rival of Batman's in the next movie.
ETA: My bad, didn't read the first pages of the post. So, Echart signed for another movie. Great!

You obviously have not read this entire thread, have you? 5+ pages on whether Dent is actually dead or not.

Okay just got back from seeing the movie. Did not feel like scrolling through 16 pages to see if this was brought up. First off it was a great movie, however was anybody else disappointed in Gothem City? The first one it was dark, more compact, look like a place you did not want to walk the streets. This one seemed more spread out, clean and just not as big a character as the first one. I know Batman help clean the streets, but they said it was the worst that city has ever been. Oh and Heath played the shite out of the Joker, be hard tp duplicate that one by any performer.

Its not a spoiler. Aaron Eckhart is signed on for another movie and this has been widely reported.
I have not heard this. Are there any links?

The meeting for approval was about warrents. I doubt this plan for the Joker tied into that because right in the scene before they dismissed him for the mob.
The comment he made with that meeting doesn't mean there was a connection between the two. Just a statement of how Dent now understands why operations need to be held close to the vest sometimes.
after seeing the movie again tonight, in completely convinced dent was not in on the plan.
to start off, i was wrong about the meeting between dent and gordon. i got that confused with when wayne was talking to lucius about the secret government communications project.
however, and this is very important, bruce wayne does begin to step forward at the press conference and is completely shocked when dent says he is batman. there is absolutely no way that batman is not in on the plan to catch the joker from the very beginning.
secondly, when dent is being transferred into the armored car, he makes a comment to rachel about the joker coming to kill him and batman coming to save him. if he really knew of this intricate plan they had worked out, he would not have said that out loud given the fact that he was skeptical of every cop around him being dirty.
lastly and most importantly, when gordon opens the back door to let dent out of the armored car, dent's reaction with his facial expression and tone of voice is one of surprise. he was not expecting to see gordon opening the door or ever again.

Great movie...although I didn't really find that they needed to make a dig at the patriot act

Yes he did cause havoc, but a part of me really wanted him to be more demented and sick. Like gruesome sick. Not that he wasn't, but I was expecting something really over the top and it never happened. Again, not taking anything away from the performance but thats just the way I saw it.
i dont see what more they couldve possibly had the joker do that was even more demented than what was done and still keep the movie pg 13.

The bike scene where he flipped it on the wall kinda disappointed me with the unbelievably of it.
if you are talking about the scence after he shot the cables in the truck and flipped it over, he didnt flip the bike off the wall, more like bounced off. not easy to do, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility, and much more realistic than a lot of things that happened in the movie.
then again this is a comic book movie and he is a superhero, so that type of stuff is supposed to happen.

I may have blinked and missed it, but I never saw a burial....
All I saw was Gordon giving a memorial with a huge picture of him on the side of a building(pre Two-Face) while they were hyping him up as the savior of Gotham).
How many memorials with speeches of how great they are and big gigantic pictures are about people who are alive?
A lot of the "DENT IS ALIVE" crowd seems to harp on that point, but even if they did have a burial scene, it would require the same exact logical leap (and one of the same length) to assume that the coffin is empty.

Two-Face isn't dead, but they think he is,when they do his autopsy it shows he is alive and he goes missing most likely, the joker escapes from prision and some new criminals show up to the scene most likely
-Two Face joins the joker. Its how he probably escapes from prision in the next movie.
-The riddler appears-Johnny Deep is the riddler hopefully, think about him when he did sweeny todd.
-Probably some other guys

*sigh*
All I said is that there wasn't a big over reaching plan/conspiracy to catch the Joker stretching from the Gordon/Dent meeting. It was an on-the-fly thing.
They expicitly say that the Joker needs to go on the backburner and isn't the main thing to be worried about. The Joker only gets their full attention when the dead poser Batman slams into the window after the mob hires the Joker.
He was on the Joker's hitlist from the begining when he was named. Regardless if the Joker thought Batman was in the car or not the plan would have proceded as it did.
Did you miss how the plan "failing" was intended by the Joker?
He needed for Dent to not go the jail, and be escorted home by policemen in Gordon's unit.
He also needed for his capture to coincide with their's, otherwise his escape plan would not have worked.
Also, you are putting too much stock into subtleties. The writers made other goofs (For example, saying that Dent killed 2 cops. He only killed one, the otherone survived the coin toss.) in the flick...can't assume everything is perfect.
