I just remembered Haley promised Yosh and Lyric safety.. What a bitch.. Reading a few things it seems like Drew is gone if he doesn't win blockbuster. But some stuff said Lyric blew her own game up in the last 36 hours.. What are you hearing/seeing Lionward2014?

If Drew goes home I'm going to lose it because Angela is calling all the shots and getting her way. She has wanted Jason and Rome gone and looks like she will get her way of getting out Drew. All without being HOH.

I'm glad I was sitting out for her season.

Yesterday (I think?), Lyric more or less was willing to throw Mallory under the bus when discussing renom with Haley. Haley through it right in her face and Lyric tried to play the victim card, which did not work around the house.
So, Lyric now looks like she cannot be trusted when she was trying to maneuver herself to the other side of the house.

I would say Big Brother trying so hard to be diverse had a lot to do with this thread going from ten pages a day to eleven pages a few weeks in.
here is my annual old man get off my lawn BB post
1. I despise how much production interferes with the show
2. Angela is only there to stir things up in the first month of the show which means she has plot armor and everybody knows it. So she is untouchable until the point where production OKs her eviction. How did she know Jason looked into the camera and made a mocking face after their talk? clearly production showed her, but NO ONE said anything to her during her speech at the nomination ceremony.
3. putting in reality show vets from other shows is unfair, giving them powers is even worse and frankly everybody knows the Survivor vets also have plot armor and they are untouchable up to a point as well
4. the TD threads were so much better when BBAD was a real thing and college kids on this board would stay up all night with the Live Feeds on and post about it. Basically all we have now three shows a week, with everything heavily controlled by Grodner's Crew. So what really is there to talk about?
5. it is painfully obvious they all know each other before the broadcast shows start. There is a full month of pre-production and appearances for the cast before they go into the house. Plus a lot of these people live in or move to LA before the show starts filming. That was a dead giveaway with Lyric and Rome. They didn't just fall in love after four days like they said
6. one of the best things about the old show was how little shenanigans and tom foolery there was from production but how much there was from the cast. There were some really wild people doing wild things on this show in the first ten years. Now it just seems to be packaged network crap
7. BB was always "manipulated" somewhat but just in the last 7 or so years it has felt "scripted" and that sucks
and then there is this
quote:
Following in the footsteps of Big Brother Canada 9, CBS announced a new diversity pledge on November 9, 2020, which would require that Big Brother and the rest of their reality programming to have at least 50% of its cast be black, indigenous or people of color, starting with Big Brother 23.[3]
which lead to The Cookout and BB23 being the worst season ever to watch as a fan

She's an icon because:
1) she says she is
2) production says she is
people that watched her season fricking hated her. I have zero doubt production's fingers are all over her "influence" on the noms to this point

Angela is the pace setter rabbit that production uses for the first month to get the show off the ground
otherwise these people would just lay around outside or sleep all day. She is quite literally only there to stir things up and make the cast sort of play the game

Seems like a flip to keep Drew and get Lyric out is happening. Dee and Devens laying the groundwork for it. Still a long time to go.

No notes.

I disagree here. I don’t get that feeling at all. Lyric uses her looks as game, and Rome is insecure. A hot girl latching on to him and him falling in love quickly makes sense. Lyric has flirted with Kamu all week to try to save her skin. If she survives this week it won’t be long until she forgets about Rome.

They backed off (got rid of altogether?) this rule. They don’t meet it this season.

houseguests on recent seasons have talked on podcasts about it, they go out together in LA, do pre-production stuff together, do corporate stuff together, before they go into the house

the comment was about how we got here
The cookout was Summer 2021
So five seasons later, CBS ditched some of their bullshite DEI
technically there are Four former reality show people on this cast
Two Survivor Alums
Jason was on the Rupaul Drag Show
Angela

a bunch of big brother cast members are on challenge 42 on paramount +
Is it normal for the challenge to get more viewers than big brother? Challenge is number 7 in the top 10 and big brother isn't even in the top 10 viewership.

The Challenge sold itself off years ago.....
I would say around the Covid times is when I stopped watching. Its unfortunate but it turned into less about the relationships and the drama in which you would have a house full of people going at it and that was half the battle to now its just about challenges and money.
With casting nowadays it is just either for The Challenge to just use the BB/Survivor pipeline to have those continue into reality TV with them.
MTV would originally use the Real World/Road Rules pipeline which would be more drama and fun...
Kind of sucks...
You still have some OG Challenge ppl in there who "won't give it up"... and also see it as an opp to take advantage of getting paid "real money" because now the payouts are way higher than what the MTV seasons would get paid (the more original ones)...
Its good to see evolution for the sake of those shows... just not a fan of the new format nor how you have to view it.

the challenge went thru a dry spell during covid season 36-39.
Since then it's been fantastic. Last season was Great and this premiere was Fantastic. The challenge is back and better than ever.
It feels old school this year with drama fights and drunk partying. The challenges feel more old school this season also. TJ is still the best host.
The OG's are still the best part. Bananas has made the finals his last 2 out of 3 seasons. Paramount + is much better than MTV looking back. There is cursing and they show more and you don't have to sit thru commercials. Looking at the high viewership already. Looks like Paramount + was the right decision than cable.

If this is the case, maybe I'll have to check it out again.
It was like a religion for us back in the day to watch all of it....

Huh? I thought she was still in love with Rome? Are they done as a couple?
