Honestly, how are we supposed to know that with as little airtime as he's gotten this season? And the airtime he has gotten has been him saying how much he didn't like Becky.
Maybe getting rid of Jackie was best for his game. But as a self-proclaimed super fan, he should know how crucial it is to get rid of known pairs with a strong bond. I say that generally liking Liz and Julia, though I can't stand Austin.
To me, it just didn't make a whole lot of sense, but I can see that is probably a product of production just not giving him much airtime. It just looked like a weak move, and it happening on a Double Eviction night when there is usually some good drama, it just killed the vibe of the episode.

Fair point, and I should have worded better. There are several alliances in the house, but there is one that will never be broken up. Having 2 twin sisters in the house isn't good for anyone's game except the 2 twins. At least you have a fighting chance with the other known pairs/alliances.
And I admit most of my anger is how anti-climatic it made the show last night. Double Eviction night is usually one of the best episodes of the season. Last night's was a dud, because you could feel the energy go out of everyone in the house when he put Meg and Jackie up.

It's really JMac that threw the wrench in everything. And James. James had that 3rd ball inches away, but got nervous that JMac was so close and rushed it. James would have won, and taken off one of his alliance members which would have been what Steve wanted.

If you think about it from Steve's game, maybe he felt threatened by ADC than Sixth Sense. At the end I the day, he destroyed an alliance so it's good on his part. It just ruined the game for everyone watching

Up til now steve has been an afterthought. A nothing, a nobody. He hasn't been on any kind of radar. Now he has several people pissed at him. Getting becky out would not only remove someone who he is at odds with, but it's relatively safe in that everybody would have already assumed that's what he'd do anyway.
I imagine that while before, the HG were probably like "steve? Oh yeah, steve. That other guy in the house who talks sometimes. I remember steve" and several are now like "man frick steve. That was shady and now he's in teh crosshairs".

Trust me when I say that the Austwins being in power is the last thing I wanted to see happen. But I'm also not going to pretend that I don't see why Steve made the move that he made either. Now will his move get him further in the game than if he put up Becky or even Austin (which was never going to happen), probably not. But I don't know if any move that he made would've gotten him any further.
With that said though, there is still a very good chance that there will be some very good drama this week. I hope beyond hope that Vanessa starts getting paranoid about Austin (which is very likely since we are talking about Vanessa), and drama starts over it. Everyone saying that the season is going to suck from now on is just upset because the people they were rooting for probably won't win. But for me, I'm rooting for drama and chaos, and that is very likely to continue (especially as long as Vanessa is in the house).

Yeah, I agree with you that it didn't help his game. Him winning HOH hurt his game the most. I thought he was trying to throw the HOH and actually got the last two questions right on accident. I would think his plan would be to back-door Becky, but once Johnny Mac won Veto, that plan went out the door..just like Jackie.

Vanessa was grilling JMac about who told Shelli about the 8 person DE "alliance". Vanessa was telling Shelli about it in the bathroom, and JMac walked in on it and they all were talking about. But Vanessa is swearing that it didn't happen. JMac told her that he doesn't know why it matters now, but that he'll show it to her when they are out of the house on the replays. She is going on about how she remembers every detail about everything, and she knows that it never happened. And she just won't let JMac alone about it.

I'm not saying Steve did the right thing but just because it's double eviction doesn't mean you change. I still think it was somewhat smart in that pick the 2 people with least chance to win a veto. Which he did and they were horrible at. He said I will take my chances vs the other 2 and he lost.
I want to say he should have thrown the HoH but who knows what Austin would do. Could have put Steve up.
