Frankie goes to jury next week no matter what happens.
Agreed, but if he was smart he would have ruptured the bomb squad that admitted to betraying him. He should have put up Derrick and Cody. That way even if one of them wins he puts up Caleb and forces them to vote out Caleb or Cody or Derrick or Cody. It's a win win for Frankie. Bad move on his part.

Yep. That was the right strategy and probably would have gotten him the win. But I hate Frankie so I'm glad he missed it. Can't wait to see him evicted and then embarrassed when he doesn't win Americas Favorite.

Anyone interested in a BB AU thread this season? The first episode aired yesterday at 5 am central time, and will continue to do so each M-F for the rest of the summer.
BB AU allows their show to be posted to Youtube without fear of copyright notices (unlike the US, the love the worldwide audience), so the episodes are posted every day by at least 10 am. Here is the first episode.

I just watched the first 30 seconds at that link and I don't have a fricking clue what is happening. I'm lost, and a little scared. This is not the BB I know.

I don't know if I will end up watching but start a thread. I might watch
Does it air every day?

It's an entirely different show. It was the launch episode, so it was a little weird, but they do it to introduce you to everyone. It'll settle down after tonight.
There's absolutely no game talk. Nominations happen once a week, but you cannot tell anyone in the house who you are nominating. There is no HoH, as we understand it in the US, but this year they do have a head of household (for the first time ever) who will be given choices throughout their reign. For example, the two HoH's last night were presented with two separate decisions. For the first decision, they had to choose which pair of house guests would not participate in the first-night party. For the second decision, they were shown 20K in cash. They could take $100 with no questions asked; $1000 each but the house had no food for three days; or $10000 each and the house had no food for a week.

It airs every day M-F. Friday night is a only a 30 minute recap show though. Noms once a week, live eviction once a week. New house guests will be added in about 4-6 weeks.

For $10,000, there would be some hungry arse house guests for a week if it was up to me.

Yea, they were making that decision today, so I haven't seen it yet.
It's different, because on this show you can't really solidify an alliance or talk someone out of nominating you. If they piss off the wrong people, they have to hope that their social game is good enough that people will forgive them and not nominate them.
There is no power of veto, so once you are nominated, that's it. It's up to Australia to save you at that point.

They will have them all same day. Like I said earlier, due to the time difference, we get them early morning same day.
For example, the second episode of the season aired at 8 p.m. in Australia on Tuesday, September 9. Because of the time difference, that was actually 5 a.m. central time here (or 3.5 hours ago). So, I'll see today's Australia episode in just a couple of hours (according to the twitter account).
So, we technically get them the same day, but by the time we get them, it's almost tomorrow in Australia.

I don't know what was scarier, the opening whatever in the hell sequence that was, or the pregnant 50 year old host. That was almost a Vegas-esque opening sequence.
So do these people hookup more than in the American version? It seems from the description that the game play portion is less emphasized in this one that in the American version, and it's more of a social experiment. Is that accurate?

Yes. Ans don't hate on Sonja. She's a legit host (who just happened to get knocked up).

Nah. They would have access to "meal replacement shakes." Whatever the hell that is.

Like they are going to risk having house guests starving out. I'm sure they'll get something to sustain them for the week.

How are players nominated with no Head of Household? who votes? the houseguests? Australia? You said something like it was up to Australia.

By secret ballot. This season will be somewhat different with them playing in pairs, but the format will be the same.
Each week the players all go to the nomination room and sit in chairs. In front of the row of chairs is a glass-sound proof box. One by one (in past seasons), the players enter into the glass, soundproof box (in full sight of everyone else), and give two nominations to Big Brother. Each time a player is nominated, they receive a point. At the end (and depending on the week), the top two or three vote-getters are put to the "public vote." BB makes them thoroughly explain their nominations, and if he is not satisfied that they have a good reason (he will accept strategy if you can articulate well enough, but he won't accept a general "I just think they should be nominated") he will penalize the player with a point.
For two or three days, Australia votes on who they want to save. Voting closes about 20 minutes into the live eviction. Whoever has received the least amount of votes to save goes home.
This year, the pairs will vote as one person.
There are some nuances every now and then. Sometimes a player will be given a special power (such as removing someone else's nominations or listening in to another HG's nominations). But those change too much to really tell you about them. They call those "nomination super-powers."

Do they typically select more normal people, or do they go for the ratings grabbing extremes like BBAMERICA?
Posted on 9/9/14 at 10:27 am to TigerFanatic99
It's a good mix of all walks of life. Australia usually weeds out the shitty house guests early on.
