I didn't watch all of season ten, but I couldn't believe how he escaped in season 14. I can't bring myself to compare any HG to Dan, just because he's been in that house nearly 200 days without being evicted once. Derrick is good, but I still don't buy into him being an All-Star despite the fact that he hasn't been a target once.
Plus he's a cop. I can't bring myself to root for the cop.
ETA: If Derrick screws over Victoria the same way Dan did Danielle, I'll believe in him.

Dan is the man. No arguing that. Love the dude
Derrick sees the game and reads people like not many can do. Dude is a chamilon (sp?). I really like his game

I respect the game he's playing, but I'm more frustrated with the house for not seeing what he's doing. Christine looks like a dogs a-hole, but she would be smart to know that her current alliance will dump her before the final two. The only chance she has is winning HOH, and that isn't likely since she'll be going up against three physical threats that would kick her arse.
That's the other thing. I know they went after Devin because he was nuts, but he was a physical beast. Why hasn't this house realized in order to win, you have to eliminate physical threats. Part one of the final HOH is endurance and Caleb/Frankie would win easily is they were to make it that far.

You would think so. But it happens every year.

Has there ever been a season where the girls controlled the house? I know season 13 had a good many, but it seems like the females are so jealous that they eliminate each other year after year and leave little chance of winning.

Amanda openly commanded the group and launched verbal assaults against other HGs in an effort to scare the others into staying in line. Derrick is commanding but not openly and his bashing of other houseguests is done in a subtle way. He is playing devil's advocate and Amanda didn't even bother with all that, she just went straight at people and made it known who her targets were. They aren't very comparable. I will say his cop mannerisms are becoming more apparent every week which I think is why I like him less and less.

Season 6. Maggie, April and Yvette ran the house and it was unwatchable. Once they got rid of Kaysar, Janelle and Howie I tuned out.

We saw that this week when Derrick warned the house that he would "call out anyone he saw talking to Nicole alone."

Derrick has a way of making the person think thats what is best for that person.

They put an undercover cop in the house, how else did they think it would turn out?

He could have not been good at his job

Donny does, though he doesn't have the bond with anyone on Derrick's side to convince them. He told Christine, but she went and blabbed about it to Cody. It was pretty dumb of Donny to talk to her about it, but then she was about the only person he could attempt to sway.
At least Dan was entertaining in how he played and actually won a competition from time to time. Derrick is just boring, and it's frustrating that a HOH hasn't just thrown him up on the block simply because he hasn't been up there. Hopefully Nicole wins HOH this week and throws Derrick and Frankie on the block.

I disagree. He was the one that could have seen the light. Being a girl she has to think she would be one of the first out of the group. But shes an idiot. Thats not Dons fault IMO

As much as I don't want Donnny to go, it's not a bad move to get him out, and try to replace Victoria with Nicole. A team of Nicole, Derrick, and Cody is better than Frankie, Caleb, and Christine. Derrick and Nicole have a chance to win HoH and on the 1% chance Victoria wins it, you let her think she is still in the alliance and have her put up Frankie and Christine. I think Derrick is still playing a very smart game. Can't fault him for manipulating the idiots he has in there with him. He's said it's not personal with Donny, he just knows he's the only one intelligent enough to oust him.

I would be happy with a Derrick Nicole finale if they team up soon and get frankie, christine, cody, caleb out in that order.

Yeah, but he was more or less deflecting the verbal assault at Nicole, but was in essence threatening the other alliance members. The problem is that the other house guests are too stupid to see what he is doing, so they didn't take it as a verbal assault towards them personally. Amanda made open threats that the others new were threats.
And that is why Derrick has been so good in this season from a social game play standpoint. He's been able to convince everyone in his alliance that he is their friend in the game, and not a threat. Heck, he's even done that with people he has wanted his alliance to target. Take Hayden and Nicole for example. They truly thought Derrick was with them to the point that when Hayden was evicted, instead of firing off on Derrick and Cody, Hayden fired off on Christine and Frankie as he was walking out the door. The guy is not only a master of convincing the house to go one way, but also while he is doing it, he convinces them that it is their idea to do it.
I don't see how anyone can't see that he is one of the better social players historically in this show. Now he definitely comes off as a jackass to us that see what is actually going on because he is backstabbing folks while making them feel safe. His "cop" qualities are definitely on full display. And there is no doubt in my mind that he is an outstanding undercover cop in real life. Just because we can see that he is an arse in this game doesn't mean that he isn't playing this game masterfully.

All of this. I think it's easy for us to hate him because he is owning our favortie HG's. He is controlling everything based on what he has to work with all the while looking like an innocent bystander. Donny is literally the only one that saw it but never had the numbers to do anything about it. Derrick has dictated this game from start to finish and has never been in any real danger.

Completely agree

Product of a weak house. This season is full of alliances and floaters instead of quality players.
Derrick is a beast, don't get me wrong, but people not considering him as a target reveals more about the house than it does his gameplay.
