The very existence of the tape is proof that he made a duplicate. Kim doesn't need a recording to prove this.
Which makes you wonder why Chuck wanted it said explicitly that it was a tape he destroyed, if it proves there was a dupe. This isn't over bc Kim got him to admit it was a dupe.

Awesome episode. They should change the name of the show to Better Call Mike, and have the whole Jimmy storyline as the B plot (which is one reason I think I enjoyed this episode so much). And I like both stories, but the Mike/Gus one is far more enjoyable for me.
As far as the ending, they could have recorded Chuck saying the tape was a duplicate. Kim was in the room longer than anyone else. I assume they would try to use that to show that Chuck was entrapping Jimmy (not sure how entrapment exactly works, but that's my guess).
I also agree that the "destroyed vs. damaged" thing comes into play, as well as the extra three dollars in the amount that Jimmy paid Chuck (I assume Chuck will try to argue that Jimmy paid the three dollars, which was him admitting to actually physically destroying the tape).
I assume the pictures Mike took were to help argue that Chuck is insane and mentally throwed.
Either way, great episode this week. I look forward to getting more history of Gus and Hector, including finding out what happened to a) get Hector into the wheelchair and being mute, and b) how Gus gets such an upper hand on him.
How many episodes are left this season?

That's what I can't wrap my head around. I think they are working some angle about the original tape, and also Chuck's craziness, but I am not sure how it save Jimmy from those charges.
Jimmy has pled to the charges. What he has to do now is mitigate whatever the Bar Association might do. The goal is to keep his law license. Somehow he plans to screw over Chuck so that the action before the Bar leaves him with a license.
I don't see how making Chuck look certifiable helps Jimmy keep his license. Unless he somehow gets Chuck to cancel the hearing before the Review Board.

I think Jimmy will claim that the taped confession was a lie to placate Chuck who is clearly insane. Even on the tape Jimmy says he only admitted it to make Chuck feel better.

Something along these lines would be my guess... Kim and Jimmy go to Chuck and show him they've got him by the short and curlys If he agrees to drop the bar hearing, they won't present their evidence to the bar. Jimmy agrees to the caveat of changing his name so he doesn't diminish the McGill name.

Chuck is one of the most despicable characters I can remember on TV. Everything he does is to frick over Jimmy. Making Jimmy add meaningless money to the damages during the mediation was personally satisfying to Chuck as it further embarrassed Jimmy.

IDK.I'm not sure how they were transporting across the Border.Dusting the truck with cocaine,IMO,just made the Dog hit the truck, for sure. And sent the DEA to Hector's Ice Cream Factory/Shop.
And,seemed to satisfy Mike, for the present.
Just spitballing. It seems that for Jimmy to practice Law in the same City as Saul, then maybe Chuck wants him to never practice as James McGill again.Or,maybe he wants that, but dies before he can enforce it.
Jimmy buries Chuck, and James McGill with him.Saul Goodman is born.He keeps the same Secretary.
We'll see.

This makes sense in the real world, but I think it would be anticlimactic. I am ready to watch Chuck burn. It's time to payoff the audience for their patience.
It's time for Chuck to be humiliated amongst his peers.

Didn't jimmy shoot a commercial with chuck ad "Saul goodman" bc I could have sworn they were in one of his commercials on breaking bad.
Or am I just going crazy
