Im okay with them saving her but that was absurd.

I don't think it was absurd. I think America is a bunch of dumb bastards that don't vote for who is the best. Its a fricking popularity contest. All the 13 year old girls who text votes for two hours after the show vote for Colton and Phillip. It's terrible, neither of them should be in the top 5, but one of them will be in the top 2 because of stupid people. Im glad they did what they did. That was there way for calling out America's stupidity.

if they look at it this way they should change the format personally i think it would work better if you vote for the person you want to leave. i think that would make a big difference

I agree with you. I am just not a Sanchez fan at all. Not saying that she can't sing, because she can. But her voice isn't something I want to listen too for fun.

Idol is nothing but a popularity contest and will always be until they limit the votes severely some how. Because right now you can call as much as you want for 2 hours, text as much as you want for 2 hours and vote up to 50 times online up to 6 hours after the show airs on the east coast and central time.

That can easily lead to power voting by people that have the time and are passionate about one person and help sway results.

Would be awesome but they will never do that in the PC world we live in because it would hurt people's feelings.

Just imagine someone on stage and Seacrest announces that they are the person that America stayed up half the night to power vote you off the show. I could see someone fragile breaking down on stage and people would say that it is so harsh.

Would make great TV though

I don't know how Hollie was not in the bottom 3 but the reason why Phillips. Jessica, and Josh were in the bottom 3 was because of song choice... all 3 sung not so popular songs and it didn't connect with the voters for whatever reason... Based on performance I thought it should have been Phillip, Hollie, and Elise in the bottom.

My wife and I just finished watching it via dvr, WOW, what a show.

I agree with you Fearthehat, the format needs to be changed or the same crap will happen every year, cute boys will make it to the finals. We (my wife and I) don't vote but I guess we should since the results piss us off so bad.

I think the really good technical singers like Pia Toscano and Jessica Sanchez don't get the votes because people assume they'll make it through and hence don't vote for them and end up pulling for some underdog.

And just like what happened with Pia in season 10, if Jennifer had her way the save would have been burned last week on Deandre and bye bye Jessica.

Was the whole save thing staged? It just seemed too staged and they did this for drama and ratings?

Bizarre show. I'm not a Jessica fan so I wouldn't have saved her. She's got pipes and she can sing, but she just sings. She doesn't draw me in. Neither did Pia, though.

I thought the judges' behavior and Randy's comment were over the top. Talk about showing bias. Won't trust their comments any longer. They've said all along that they want a girl to win and that's fine if that's what happens, but now, I think maybe things are being set up. I felt badly for the other contestants sitting there while the judges drooled over Jessica, who I doubt will have a big career even though she's got quite the voice.

It's been clear as day that the judges (mainly Randy and Jennifer) have been pulling for Jessica since she sang that Dolly Parton song. Yes, I refuse to give Whitney Houston credit for that song since she didn't write a damn thing on it. F U American Idol for not giving Dolly Parton her credit. Their conduct tonight was complete horse shite. Yes, they had a save and they used it. Nothing wrong with that. However, running on stage and calling America out was going too far. I believe once they use the save, two get sent home the following week to keep up with the schedule. I'm willing to bet that if Jessica goes home next week, Randy and Jennifer will quit.

I lost a lot of respect for both of those judges tonight. I actually put the X on Jennifer when she was telling America to vote for DeAndre's sorry arse. Way to single out your favorites, judges.

Sanchez is a good singer. Me not liking her on the show isn't personal. She just isn't my style. The problem I'm having is that the judges actions recently are hurting the show. They are supposed to judge and critique not full on influence a vote and blatantly show bias to the point of losing all integrity.

I think their actions will actually hurt Sanchez in the long run if in fact this wasn't a setup and she was actually lowest vote total.

But seeing the actions of the judges and knowing that idol wants to pick their ratings back up, I wouldnt put it past them to do a setup like this.

I have watched pretty much every season. This season has stronger talent than the recent few. But the judges are getting worse. I actually liked them as judges last season.

The judges have always shown bias since the birth of the show, they are allowed to show favoritism.

Watching Steven Tyler stammer over his words is pretty painful, he's just taking up space.

I know that they can show favoritism but it really ruins the spirit of the show when crap like that happens that happened tonight.

Steven Tyler is getting more awkward and creepy by the show. The "love making" comments he made to skylar and Colton were awkward and out of line last night. The comments he made to Ledet about the dancer were awkward.

I think they have, but this was way over the top for me and I've never felt they were trying to set things up. Now, I do. It's just a show, but I've enjoyed it. It's a nice stress reliever, but now, it seems there's more manipulation going on than just the judges basing comments on the individual performances from a technical standpoint.

Friend of mine just told me that TMZ reported earlier that a favorite was going to be voted off and the producers were telling the judges to use the save before the show started. Well, they would have used the save anyway, but this is the first time I've heard of a leak and I think it was intentional to get the ratings up. For me, it affects the integrity of the show. It's been sealed up tight all of these years.

Just another reality show that ain't reality.

Oh, and you can look up the article on TMZ. I'm too lazy to go back and find it.

ETA: still had the link in my tray, so here it is.

I'm not that mad. I just don't believe much of the show anymore.

They probably got higher ratings with that leak, though, and now, I think the judges knew before the show and the whole thing was completely staged. They don't want Hollie in the finals. That's for sure.

Im getting to that point, but will still continue to watch anyway. Im a sucker for reality tv and singing competitions.

Im 100% in this corner now. It had to be staged and its about ratings. Idol has been down in ratings this season compared to the others. They wanted a spark.

This is the main reason for my hate rage for the judges just in case you aren't familiar with my Hollie rants in this thread

Would LOVE to see Jessica and Joshua gone next week and see Hollie and Elise in the final. Just cause.
