I love what Nolan said about it. He wants to keep Heath's life and death in reality and not use it for a purpose in fiction so he chose not to address it which I agree with 100%
I thought the way he handled it was great. He let the corruption of the Joker live on through Harvey Dent and the lie that was covered up by Gordon. He didn't need to be mentioned in this film. Dent was his ace in the hole.

Just watched it for the first time. Was fricking awesome.
My only wish was they would have just at least said the Joker one time. Just mention him.
Bane was bad as frick but I hated the way he died.
If Bruce really was alive would Alfred really have just a smile on his face or would he be like "holy shite you're alive"?

He said that his fantasy was to see him and know that he "made it." He specifically said they wouldn't talk to each other, just acknowledge each other and that'd be it.
So I say yes. Plus all the other stuff at the end.

Regarding the lackluster impact of Tate betraying Bruce at the end-
How about eliminating the Blake arc altogether. After all, Gordon didn't need his rescue at the hospital, and you could have Gordon or someone else feed the cops info etc.
As for all that Blake does with Bruce, give it to Tate. Have HER come and tell Bruce that Gordon is hurt, and instead of "you're Batman", she says something like "you're the only one I could turn to with this. If only we still had Batman around"; and lure him out. And she could be the one that gives him a ride home after the car is repo'd. Basically, build her into a major character/ally for Bruce to fall for- and you could impose the Selena Kyle interest as the one thing he doesn't quite share with her.
Then, when she stabbed him, it would be more potent.

him slowly stalking batman before the first fight was awesome

That and him slowly walking up on the roof as Batman & Catwoman were escaping. That was really well done.

Some of the reasoning of people in this thread makes me nauseated. Some of you must be very difficult to sit through a movie with.
Did some of you also question how two-face survived the scene in TDK where he shoots the driver and the car flips over with him inside, or did you question how Joker survived getting his head slammed into a metal table or into brick walls inside the interrogation room?

like I said Nolan is a victim of the realism he created in these movies. Seriously, you don't see this kind of nitpicking for any other comic book movie.

To Hardy's Bane. Great unique voice.
However, I was TOTALLY blown away by Hathaway's Catwoman. Amazing to say the least. I was worried about the character being in Nolan's world and Hathaway's chances.
But, DAMN she was awesome.
I've seen the movie three times. There is so much BS in this thread being spewed from just pure ignorance. See the movie a few times and everything ties together.

Man it would have been amazing just to show the joker with his back turned or something in a back alley or sitting in a chair just laughing with Heath Ledgers voice from TDK. I would have seriously JIMP.
I'm not saying you have to cgi Heaths face or nothing. Just show like him turned away from the camera or something with his trademark laugh and purple suit. frick

I liked Bane's voice before they went back and edited it.

Here's another thing that pisses me off about the nitpickers. They think it's totally impossible for Bruce Wayne - a guy known for his gadgets - to fix his leg up to where it's strong enough to bust up a brick wall but they have no problem with Bane shattering a concrete pillar with his fists.

How many people think Alfred knew the pearls were missing from the estate dispostions and then tracked the pearls using the signal to the cafe he told Bruce about?

That's a damned interesting theory.

quote:Good. A lot of people didn't care for lots of things in this movie. One of the major issues people have is that Tate's betrayal of Bruce felt shallow to pointless, because nobody really cares about her.

Do YOU have any problems at all about how she is portrayed? About why her betrayal is supposed to feel so bad? If you do, then how might you have established her as a more relevant love interest?

I saw it coming before I even saw the movie so it probably wouldn't have had an impact on me either way.

I don't have any problems with her portrayal at all because there really weren't any love interests for Bruce in this movie, nor should there have been. I regard his "relationship" with Miranda as nothing more than a fling, eight years without any sex finally getting to him.
