First those saying it was meh, did you watch it subbed or dubbed? I’ve found the voice actors don’t do a great job with the dubbed version.

Very true. I got annoyed at the dubbed version. Having seen the subbed several times, I was looking forward to not having to read the screen for the entire movie, but damn, it really did take me out of the experience hearing those off-putting voices. It was disappointing to say the least.

I couldn't watch the dubbed version after seeing the Japanese version in the theater. Turned it off.

I’m a fan of an authentic Japanese franchise, presented in its original language, but they are the ones who saw a black woman.

Just last week some were speculating that as TOHO usually does things on the down low, moving forward cautiously, maybe we'd hear something sooner than later.
G-1 reopens in theaters today, and wham! They drop this news. Masterful.
Also, it stuffs any concerns that Disney would steal Yamazaki away before he had a chance to follow up(?) Godzilla Minus One.
Not a confirmation that it'll be a direct sequel, but some have suggested that remaking of Godzilla vs Hedorah might be at the tops of their list.
