An absolute masterpiece in concept and mythology. A true passion project. Because Clive wouldn’t have it any other way. Only to be screwed over by the studio. It never really got completed the way Clive wanted it. Not fully. And it’s a damn shame because it would have been the staple for dark fantasy horror.
There’s a Directors Cut available on Cineverse. It’s the only way it needs to be watched. Although it’s still not the completed product.

This is the third best movie Clive Barker has directed.

Second for me. But this would have been first imo if he had gotten to do what he wanted in full. But that’s just a matter of opinion.

I wanted to bone the porcupine chick.
They even tease a sequel, but it never came.

Back when there was just one HBO and you were getting all nutty staying up way past midnight, you were watching Nightbreed. I have seen this film many, many times.

I couldn't tell if this was a slight or a compliment.
I was curious, so I looked it up. And CB has directed exactly three movies.

I loved this movie as an early teen. I was getting into horror, and the whole secret society of creatures and monsters hit my sweet spot.
I need to do a rewatch, though I know it won't live up to what it was when I was young.
