Yeah we knew this a few weeks but I’m very interested to see what they do here.

Holt is a good actor imo and could do a very good job.

Interested to see their vision. I honestly don’t think Lex has ever been portrayed well in a movie.

Yeah that was my point.

Gene Hackman played him as a bumbling buffoon imo. He had "comedic" moments.

I like those movies a lot and grew up with them. I like Gene Hackman.

I think he was a terrible Lex in terms of how Lex SHOULD be.

He was CAMPY. Very campy. That is not Hackman's fault, it was a product of the times.

Lex Luthor is a cold, calculating, genius, sociopath.

I laughed way too hard at your curious decision to remove the "u" from his last name and put it in his first name.

this was breaking news. being first to post it didn't allow me to fix it.

Why does that picture look like a creepy molester dude and the young boy toy he used to abuse?

I like NH though. Hope this next version of Superman is better than some of the previous entries.

I have full faith in this.

Gunn seems to know what he is doing IMO and will put love into this.

Why does your brain go to something like that when looking at that picture?

Probably because of why Gunn was fired from Disney

Played Lex Luthor:

Hackman
Spacey

Eisenberg
Holt

Which one of these is not like the other...

Did we watch the same movie? Ned Beatty played the bumbling buffoon, but not Gene Hackman.

Whether that's true or not, he was portrayed PERFECTLY by Michael Rosenbaum on Smallville

Yes, we did. He was just less bumbling. He was over the top campy.

Which fit the time. You could not have an ultra serious superhero movie. Even Nicholson's Joker is a bit campy at times.

Hence the qualifier "in a movie"

So, the Jesse Eisnenberg version. Got it. I enjoyed Jesse in that role as well.

Jessie came off as a discount Joker, imo.

Not that it was bad, just not a proper Lex Luthor.

Eh...he came across as a borderline Autistic annoying twerp

Lex is much more socially aware, much smoother, more calculating than that.

Good points on both Nicholson & Hackman. But in their respective movies, I think those characters fit perfectly.
