Sounds like two racists in the making

Did you even read the entire OP. The writer was one of the writers for the movie 12 years a slave. Do you expect kids to be as excited for a slavery movie as they are for a comic movie

I think most people liked Azrael as a character but that was story telling with an actual payoff while they meandered on the various Superman reimaginings.

I like Azrael as a character, but not as Batman.

I didn't mind the Reign of Supermen storyline so much (I really like Steel and wish he was used more), but bringing Superman back as an energy being or whatever (or...as two energy beings?) was absolutely ridiculous.

Why do they need to do this? Superhero movies are already gay as hell. No need to add anything else

We had Steel and Superboy which were good. Cyborg Superman which got shunted off to the Green Lantern side of things. I forget if the Eradicator posed as Supes but then yeah Red and Blue.

Blue Beetle's second legacy Jamie Reyes and his books were pretty good.

Jessica Cruz decorrupted the crime syndicate power ring and is now another Green Lantern for Earth.

Good and fun legacies and reimaginings are out there. The difference is they let it be organic instead of an ad campaign.

Someone gets it, I see.

Both were not just fun but they were original takes that had little to do with the original characters other than the names (especially in the case of Reyes/Blue Beetle). They were their own characters with their own dimensions and stories, not just new, woke-approved versions whose primary purpose was only to make a social justice statement (looking at you, Bendis' Legion of Super Heroes).

After Clark "died" the Eradicator was indeed one of the 4 replacement Superman (along with Steel, Superboy, Hank Henshaw the Cyborg Superman).

The next hero to don Batman’s cowl will be a black man, named Tim Fox, DC Comics has revealed.

The identity of the new Batman, estranged son of Bruce Wayne’s business manager Lucius Fox, was announced by the comics publisher on Thursday. The new series will be written by John Ridley, the screenwriter of 12 Years a Slave, with art by Nick Derington and Laura Braga. It is set in a future Gotham City controlled by the villainous Magistrate, where all masked vigilantes are outlawed and Batman has been killed. Fox, as a new Batman, will rise up to save the day.

Ridley had previously revealed that the next Batman would be a person of colour, telling the New York Times that it was the first time his two sons had been “genuinely excited” about his work. “They appreciate the things that I do. They’re happy for me. They’re great supporters. But they would much rather see Black Panther than 12 Years a Slave, let’s be honest,” he said in November. “So to be able to write the next Batman, for them to know that this next Batman is going to be black, everybody else on the planet can hate it, have a problem with it, denigrate it, but I have my audience and they already love it.”

Batman's dead so I'm assuming Nightwing, Damian, Jason Todd, etc are as well. Lucius Fox's son takes up the mantle. Okay, not a bad premise. It sets up for a whole new world of new potential. I hope he doesn't screw the pooch by going with some trope like Magistrate being the new KKK or some similar silly racial bullshite.

Man, DCU JL could have had such a badass storyline if WB and Snyder weren't incompetent.

Could have continued the Doomsday thing to Connor and had Superboy and a Darkseid corrupted Superman duke it out.

So does that mean you’d be perfectly fine with Milo Yiannopoulos playing as the next Black Panther now?

Or are you a racist homophobe?

I’m always one to bitch about forced diversity but this might be cool. Regular Bruce Wayne Batman is played out. Something different will be more interesting.

Scott Snyder is one of the greatest Batman writers ever. This seems like a really odd statement to make while he is still involved.

Regular Bruce Wayne? OK, if you really feel that way then why not have a black guy come up with his own damn costume , backstory , and hero persona? Why do we have to keep having appropriation of established white straight males? The SJW crybabies want all of the glory and status of an elite superhero, but they don’t want to do all the heavy lifting or invest the years and decades which the others clearly have already done.

Sounds more plausible than the character switch in BatWahman , on the CW.
