Caught his act a few years ago in Vegas - he was hilarious. Even did a Seinfeld show Q & A at the end with the audience.....favorite moments, funniest moments, etc.

I’m a huge fan, but this special wasn’t good at all.

And I tell you what, the silver age of late night talk was something to behold.

I liked late night when they simply had entertaining and interesting guest for the sake of a quality show. Sometimes they had a project to plug but most times not - nothing like the late show circle jerks that happen now. Late night TV has become unwatchable and I miss it. Nobody will ever do it like Carson did.

It would have to be REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad to be worse than that thing was. Absolutely dreadful.

How was Parks and Rec unwatchable?

Yeah I thought it was great for what it was. We got to see the characters again. They rehashed old jokes and roles. It was for a good cause.

Were people expecting some kind of spark of innovative comedy with it?

How did it compare to his 2017 Jerry Before Seinfeld? I thought that one was great, maybe his best standup ever.

I went and saw him at the Sanger in New Orleans in the 90s and he was so funny I could barely breathe. This was like watching Jordan play for the wizards

So I watched about half last night...something is indeed off with this one. Hard to say, his stage presence is just not the same. Almost as if he is trying to hard? Even my wife said it wasn’t as funny as the others she has seen.

Certainly some funny bits (and some bits I he has done before) but it just wasn’t quite the same, and I have seen him recently.

I like most of it except for his hacky marriage stuff, which was like a third of the show. Other than that it’s standard Seinfeld.

I loved that one and I’m a huge Seinfeld fan in general. I loved him before the sitcom.

This newest one is bad. It was like a forced caricature of the worst of Seinfeld, like someone doing a spoof of Seinfeld.

I turned it off halfway through. It felt like he was disrespecting his earlier comedy by bombing so badly.

That’s kind of what I though...it’s just so weird. Why after all this time would he have to force it? It’s like he was unprepared or something. It’s really hard to explain and I think folks need to see for themselves.

My wife was never a Seinfeld fan but loves the standup, including the one that came out in 2017 (doesn’t seem that old but I guess it is). She definitely didn’t think it was as funny and doesn’t have near the bias I have

The first half was funny, the second half was meh. He is 65 years old, it's gonna run away from him at some point.

Watched it last night, thought it was pretty good. A notch below his usual stuff. But definitely not unwatchable.

I like some of his old stand-up but never liked the TV show. This special was a chore to sit through.

Watched it. Very hit and miss. He needs to stay away from the marriage stuff. That's the kind of hackneyed humor that he looked down on in the 80's and 90's. He's a multi-millionaire. Husband and wife money jokes don't work for him.

The observational humor is still gold. The buffet jokes, the Pop Tart jokes, the jokes about getting old and not giving a shite... Gold Jerry.

I think that in decades past, he'd have steered clear of the buffet and Pop Tart jokes, since those were signature topics for other comics (John Pinette and Paula Poundstone). Sort of like someone other than Jim Gaffigan doing a set on Hot Pockets. But Seinfeld gives less of a shite now and just wants to be funny.

Video on Comedy Central site.

They actually sold box sets of Carson's shows and they were best sellers.

Can you imagine people buying Fallon? Or Noah? Or Kimmel?

It's like hey, I just got this new DVD, it's a compilation of old Encyclopedia Britannica and feminine hygiene commercials...you wanna watch it for like 5 hours?

Maybe Conan or Kimmel in another 20 years or so.

I'd buy Letterman (NBC) or Tom Snyder (Tomorrow) right now. I'd even pay for Bob Costas (Later).
