Is that at the Regal right off of Wheeler Rd or the Riverwatch Cinemas?

The Producers Guild of America is "rightfully concerned" about Netflix buying Warner Bros.

"Producers are rightfully concerned about the potential sale or merger of our industry’s most storied and meaningful studios. For the last century, the entertainment industry has employed millions of Americans, delighted audiences, and showcased the very best of America at home and abroad. As we navigate these dynamic times of economic and technological change, our industry, together with policymakers, must find a way forward that protects producers’ livelihoods and promotes creativity and opportunities for workers and artists, choice for consumers, and freedom of speech. This is the test that potential mergers or sales of our legacy studios must pass. Within their vaults are more than content libraries – it’s the character and culture of our nation."

They should've bitched more when WB was bought by a reality-science network.

Bad news. Signaling that they aren’t fully committing to theatrical release, probably on streaming much faster

Great news.

But it’s not a Monopoly. What’s the difference between Paramount owning Warner Bros. vis Netflix?

In streaming paramount/warner would actually be a truer competitor to both Netflix and Disney/hulu (and Prime) instead of Netflix/warner becoming even more dominant.

Below is just one source for 2025 (ecova) and not sure of accuracy or how it’s Prime distinguishes between people mostly using prime for other things besides video streaming or how Hulu’s live service factors in. Sometimes I just watch Prime because it’s there, but I would not consistently pay for the video streaming without Amazon’s other services included.

Netflix 21%
Prime 22%
Max 13%
Disney+ 12%
Hulu 11%
Paramount+ 9%
Apple TV+ 7%
Peacock 1%
Other 4%

Peacock is doing awful, but I guess this shouldn’t be surprising as every time I look at the top ten for it’s streaming it’s reality shows, 2 different office versions with the super fan one, parks and Rec, and maybe one or two original programming every so often.

Yep, HBO was already bad enough, now it’s going to be hyperdrive girlbossing and gender/race nonsense.

Why? What have you seen already with them taking control of paramount that would make this suck more than Netflix?

Or is it about your politics???

I sincerely doubt there is any difference in the political leanings of the principal decision makers at either company.

It's about their doing things like putting an op-ed writer in as the Editor-In-Chief of CBS News.

Both belong to the political party of Profit, but Ellison's team has the track record of bending to the party in power to get deals done.

Maybe I'm behind on news, but what does politics have to do with this? I just hate Paramount's interface.

Stop playing dumb like we don’t know you. He didn’t say anything about paramount’s interface

He cited the Ellison family and you agreed with him

Impossible for me to play dumb. Ellison family owns Paramount. That I know. I don't know that family's politics, nor do I care. I know Paramount is poor in comparison to Netflix and their bid for WB required backing by Saudis. Netflix spends money like it's confetti, so I expect they'll continue to greenlight HBO films. I am extremely happy abt narrower theater to streaming windows. I don't give a shite abt muh gay. If this is a political problem for you, try not to drag me down in the mud with you.

Oh, and I hate Paramount's interface. Half the time, subtitles don't even work.
