Looks good. The pacing is supposed to be better.

So are they abandoning the live action show? They don't seem to care much about it even though it's a big hit.

Every time One Piece comes up, it reminds me of this video

Nope; season 3 is currently in production. I think they are remaking the anime to be a more streamlined version. The anime has over 1100 episodes and is still going.
I'm actually glad for this new adaptation as I want to watch the anime but it felt too daunting. While I enjoy the live action, I'm sure alot of things get left out. So this new show is hopefully a good middle ground.

quote:Good. As long as it doesn't take them another 2 1/2 years to release a season. The actors are already noticeably aging.

Lookup "One Pace". It doesn't have all of the story arcs yet (mostly missing the ones at the end) but it edits the episodes to cut out all of the filler. It's a much superior version than the original.

live show will continue. the original anime run of OP is over like a thousand episodes with hundreds of filler episodes. it is getting the DBZ Kai treatment trimming each arch up.

Suppose East Blue was reduced to 25 episodes, even without filler. In that case, this cuts the episode count of the original TOEI anime adaptation by over half, reducing it from 53 to 25.

The idea is to have one piece live action and anime come out on alternating years so theres new one piece every year

The anime has over 1100 episodes and is still going.
Each episode is ~22-24 mins in length.
That is ~20 days of anime run time.

I may have imagined but I thought I heard that 4 seasons for the live action was about as much as they're aiming for. Otherwise we'd Nami in her mid 50's 60's before they caught up.
I'm casually watching the anime, so I don't know, but aren't they supposed to be around their early 20's, at most? At least at the start of the show.

quote:Yeah, and they have pulled it off pretty well so far, but if they stretch 4 seasons into a decade, the actors will end up like like the cast of Stranger Things.

Nami actress started off in her 30's. I don't mind them being a bit older, but she won't be doing those action scenes in her 40's.
