Nobody seemed to notice they tried to give Kristen Bell the opportunity to be a little sexy in some scenes.
Oh, I noticed. I noticed a lot.
Speaking of, how awesome is Kristen Bell’s persona? I mean, she comes off as maybe the most wife material woman of all time. But didn’t I read several years back that she was a pretty huge bitch irl? I have refused to research it because I so badly don’t want it to be true. Maybe she’s out grown it—or maybe I’m just 100% wrong—but it seems like she had the reputation of being really difficult to work with going way back to maybe even her Veronica Mars days. Regardless, she may not have huge range as an actress, but what she does, she does extremely well. Probably the best in Hollywood by a long shot.

I am definitely the minority here but she does nothing for me. She has such a weird looking face (mainly the eyes) that makes me think she has a touch of downs.

Probably not. She has one of the highest approval ratings in Hollywood. Everyone seems to love working with her.
Maybe your thinking of Katherine Heigl?

Kristin Bell and Dax Shepard are pretty well known to be the nicest Hollywood couple.
Both are from blue collar Michigan and sound pretty grounded.

Dax actually comes off as a pretty cool dude on his podcast, which surprised me because always figured he would be a tool.

I hope so.

That’s good to hear. My position is we don’t know any of these celebrities (or anybody, really). At all. And that nothing ANYBODY ever does or how they behave would shock me. But KB just seems so damn likable—she’s funny, talented, beautiful, seems like a good mom, super-cool, very down to earth, and to not take herself too seriously. Her marrying Dax, who is physically not in her league, presumably because he (seems) funny, cool, and very likable too makes her even more attractive.
Again, maybe this was a really long time ago and she’s matured, or I could just be completely misremembering. And I hope that’s the case, because, like I said, we don’t know these people at all, just the public persona they have crafted and fed to us. But she’s one that would be a real bummer to find out she sucks as a person.

No, I certainly know about her reputation and wouldn’t have confused them. As I was typing that post I even assumed some people would think I was mixing them up. But let’s drop it—no matter what’s she’s like irl, I prefer to keep the fantasy that she’s perfect.

No doubt. And he must be to have landed Kristin Bell.

He may have been in the past. I’m pretty sure he had a pretty bad drug and alcohol problem. If it weren’t for that, the 2 of them would be pretty high on my list of Hollywoodsters to have a beer with.
ETA—I have derailed this thread enough, back to show.

Dax is a recovered addict and always jokes about how he was a major douche on Punkd and just wanted to be accepted

That show was dumb. I should’ve just let that Netflix fad pass
ETA: Bell did a fine job with it. I just didn’t like most of it. All 8 episodes, I probably felt like “this sucks” 45-50 percent of the time. And the “who done it” reveal was stupid.

I thought the writing was great and didn’t miss the mark at all. Again, I certainly get not digging it, but you’re missing the mark if you think the show missed its mark, because I think the a big part of the mark it aimed for was to give the perception that it had missed the mark. Which it did, by missing the mark. Which in this case was hitting the mark. Of missing the mark. (nod to the Kristen Bell voice over quoted above me, which was one of my favorite parts.) For example:
Exactly!
Just finished this and thought it was hilarious. I think maybe the execution could've been a touch cleaner, but there were so many subtle funny moments.

That's the wordiest title since 'Don't trust the bitch in Apt. 23 '.
I think I'll pass.
