But thats not what is important in Christopher Nolan films
Agreed. Nitpicking plot holes and other elements of a movie is really only appropriate when the movie is an absolute turd. I hope red letter media decides to do the Schumacher films one day.

I will say that Nolan's Gotham had more going on besides batman and the villains, but yeah. It's basically just Chicago with Gotham residents
BTW I fricking love the scenes in TDK rises that kind of show you life in an under siege Gotham. Underground resistance, People fending for themselves, absolute lawlessness and bullshite trial courts where innocents are just executed. Love that stuff.

Solid review, OML.
I absolutely loved this movie and it really is a satisfying ending to the triology. I really don't have any issues with it, but you know I wish I could have seen a better more high tech looking batcave. The platforms coming out of the water was cool though.
After seeing Nolan's and hans zimmer's work with this trilogy, I have high hopes for them lending their talents in the new Superman movie. It's high time Supes got the great movie(s) he deserves.

Well if you put a Nolan spin on Superman, how exactly do you explain that he fights without a mask yet NOONE KNOWS WHO HE IS. Also Superman by definition is a dull character. Basically Ill watch the movie because of Nolan, not because its a superman movie

how the hell did Batman get back in the city
I'm assuming Bruce got into the Batcave and used the Bat to get into the city. I was left wondering this after the first viewing, but noticed something in the second viewing after watching TDK.
When Bruce and his date join Harvey and Rachael at the restaurant at one point Harvey asks if Wayne Manor is in the city limits. So it must be either on the very edge or off the island. Also, the last time we see the Bat, it is left in the Batcave, but when Bruce and Fox go to it, it's parked on top a building.
As for how he got back to United States/Gotham, I'm not sure. Maybe he got in contact with some powerful friends?

Well if you put a Nolan spin on Superman,

Here's the teaser if you're interested.
Sorry for hijacking your thread OML.

I know but the trailor leads me to believe its in the same vein

Hmm i guess. either way i guess a mask is irrelevent. I mean Bruce got figured out by just getting looked in face apparently

I hope because its kind of hard to find an interesting weakness for him because the kryptonite thing is played out and doesnt create much drama on its own

I thought the Bat was still parked on that rooftop.
and I never gave too much thought to Bruce getting back into the city (let alone back into the country) because he's a fricking well-connected super ninja.

The last we see of it is him coming into the Cave with it and then he and Alfred get into the argument about whether or not he should continue as Batman. The next time he suits up, he goes to see Selina in order to meet Bane. I suppose he could have parked it up there on his way to the sewers.

Who was the chick that was with Catwoman?

quote:According to IMDB, her character's name is Jen. I think it was a nod to the comics because in there, catwoman took in a female off the streets and she protected her. Sort of like a little sister.

I thought it was supposed to be Holly Robinson

What are you basing this on?

The plot left me a little confused, particularly Bruce's time in the prison. Just didn't work for me.
We know the bomb had 5 months until detonation. By my calculation that would be roughly 150 days.
It took the viewing of Bane taking over the city for Bruce to get out of bed and the cell-mate to reset his back.
The next shot we get is winter in Gotham. Some considerable time had passed.
When Bruce is exercising, preparing to do his first climb, we see on the tv "Day 84"
When the Special Forces guys speak with Fox, he says they have "23 days" until the bomb goes off.
The hanging of the Special Forces sets Bruce off on his 2nd climb. And later 3rd. 84+23=107 days. There are 43 days missing in-between. And Bane had the bomb armed after he placed Bruce in the pit. That's plenty of recovery time for his back.
Next we hear from Gordon they have "18 hours," less than a day.
So Bruce had roughly 22 days to get back to Gotham. And we see him all clean-shaven and has the "clean slate" program. Which means Bruce was back in Gotham a day or two before, possible reconnaissance of the city.
Either way, 22 days is plenty of time to get back to Gotham and 107 days is plenty of recovery time in the movie realm.

You don't think Bruce Wayne had reserve offshore accounts to rely on? I don't think they really needed to even explain this.
The question isn't how he got the finances to get back to Gotham, just how he got downtown with total lockdown.
quote:
Fox, Bane letting him live is part of his character. He is extremely arrogant and believes that he and his plans are unbreakable. Plus he stated someone of Fox's stature needed to see the new world.
No it isn't. He offed characters left and right once they've outlived their usefulness. Batman was more personal, but he should have killed Fox pretty instantly. Bruce Wayne was the person in Fox's status to see it, plus dozens of others I'm guessing.
