re: MTV The Challenge: Total Madness

I fast forwarded through most of this episode, and every damn second of Zach and Jenna. No one cares. It's terrible TV. Jenna has become a total non factor after she broke her ankle on champs vs stars and lost all that weight.
This season is actually not very good. There's a reason why the challneg houses always have cool, huge houses with huge pools and hot tubs. That made for far more social interaction and far happier and more story worthy house anf thus better tv.
Putting the cast in a damn bunker was a major major mistake. They're all going so damn nuts and are so damn bored, they've resorted to shite like the fire extinguisher and third grade crushes as main storylines this year.
Those stories may be fun initially, but there's nothing compelling about it after the first few episodes of it.
MTV learned a decade ago with the Island that that kind of restrictive setting does not make for good social interaction and TV. They really screwed up. This is one of the most boring seasons in a while after having two of the best in recent memory.

I used to love the challenge and watch every second, but I stopped watching midway through last season and haven’t really watch this season at all. Unfortunately most of the people who carry the show now are duds. Wes and CT are old and play the game smart, which is good for them but boring TV. Bananas is just annoying now, he does the same shite every season. Most of the newish people like Jordan, Tori, Cory, etc are just okay, Jordan is a beast at the challenge but it seems like a total dick in real life. And then some of the people like Paulie and Cara, Ashley, are just so damn annoying and impossible to root for.
Most of the Brits are meh... Kyle is probably my favorite character now but he’s not really a threat.
It’s just repetitive now so I gave it up

I wish they would have to where if you have multiple red skulls you can like save yourself from going home. Like Jay had two so if he loses to Rogan he has to give him one. That would be kinda cool. And it would at least cut some slack to people who get voted in over and over.
Damn, that’s actually a great idea. I love the red skull element but the fact is Jay would have had to win like double digit eliminations to make a final and that just sucks.
Your idea would make it pretty much ideal

The worst part is now Rogan feels like a badass for making a normal tackle on a much smaller dude.
This. Annoying as hell. And they’re still sitting around talking about it hours later. Like in high school when two guys almost fight and it becomes the center of conversation for weeks

So now we don’t even get a fricking VOTE for the elimination in the same episode? Goddammit this is bullshite.

Did anyone know about the challenge channel on Pluto TV? It's 24/7 old challenge seasons. I have been watching nonstop for the last few days. I wish I'd have found out about that sooner.

Yeah I agree with that. Hopefully they’ll take them to the Chernobyl watering hole at some point
I wonder if that’s part of the reason CT went in against Jay even though it wasn’t a physical elim. Figured he’d rather see if he was in a final right off the bat before getting stuck in there for weeks and maybe missing a shot to even run the final.
If so, I guess that MTVs idea to push people in earlier is working

That would get exploited, too. If someone had two skulls and had immunity from going home, he or she could just throw an elimination for an ally.

She always has but somehow has this reputation as a good challenger.
I don't really think she has the reputation at all. She's just friends with everyone so she rarely gets sent in to eliminations. Johnny even kind of said as much in one of the interviews during the show that she had something to prove. But good lord she was never small but she is just straight up fat now.
This is her from Rivals 1

am i the only one who thinks the island is amazing? that's probably a separate thread, but i think that season is awesome.
i don't usually subscribe to this type of shite, but zach is incredibly emotionally manipulative, holy frick.
trying to convince jenna to come home with some vague bullshite, avoiding the "i love you," just a complete clown performance from him. how in the frick does mtv continue to find a way to show us jenna and zach drama on seasons when they aren't even both on? does literally anyone care?

Same here. I guess normal isn’t what the general public wants to see

The fact that they were showing challenge an elimination in one episode, and they randomly changed for the past 2 makes me think more people went home than they were expecting (hurt, DQ, quit), and they re-edited to keep the same number of episodes.

Yeah, I am glad for Jenna that she didn't straight up quit... even if she might end up quitting via elimination.
No idea why they did that pairs elimination with an odd number of people... and since it's a girls elimination that means they are about to have two more men than women. Jordan had a huge advantage getting to go twice even if it didn't pay off.

Would have been her 3rd time to do so. Surely someone in production stepped in and told her if she quit this time, she wasn’t welcome back.
The women as a whole are really weak this season. Outside of Jenny & Tori, there is little competition, IMO.

Like the other guy said, mtv needs to get back to their roots on the challenge. It needs to be more hot tubs/parties and random hookups/drama. They need to freshen up the show a little. Getting rid of the couples would be a start
Posted on 5/8/20 at 7:08 pm to Civildawg
Having couples has always been a miss for me (except Rachel and Veronica, heyoo). But I think they’ve done a good job casting some of these new Brits though. Kyle is awesome. I hate Rogan but he’s a good character to hate. Same with Dee although I would be glad if she was one altogether. Joss is also good. Bear has grown on me. Plus others like I’d like to see Paulie sans Cara. Etc.
I think the hour and a half sucks though. And I think they are trying too hard for storylines at times, like someone mentioned. But they’ve sort of gotten back to their roots lately and that’s why the past few seasons have been solid. They just need to get back to that.

Agreed. Melissa (although she has barely been on this season) and Jenny as well. Big T seems like a decent person too.
I like adding Jay as well. There is a large talent pool to pull from via Survivor, even though they will always aim young.

I thought it was funny how Nelson thought Aneesa was trying to throw the challenge. She sucks so much she doesn't need to throw anything. There's no chance she will win if she tries her hardest.
In the preview for later in the season it looks like some people are pissed they missed their chance at a red skull. Throwing in Jay multiple times and people being scared to throw themselves in is gonna cost a lot of people their chance at the final. Nice to see playing a scared game will hurt you in the end.

Fessy has y’all fooled. If one of the girls start flirting with him, he will shock y’all at how strange and bizarre he can be. It was funny in BB but it was creepy as hell too.

Well... one of them needs to get on it.
I nominate Nany. She'd frick anything.
