Yes, it's not smart for that poster to ask about the show in the show thread, I agree
But if you're gonna respond you might as well leave some parts out

Nah, There's a narrator like fight club, it's dark like fight club, it has a similar arch, I think it's valid to say even though I know what you mean but even that part isn't exactly the same here.

Loved the throwback USA Network start to the episode. I could watch Elliot and ALF together for an entire episode.
That's just me going back to my childhood though. My guess is realistically it was probably pretty damn strange.

Overall it's a great show and a step in the right direction for tv viewer, but there are a few things that bug me.
The creator of this show gets a bit too indulgent at times. It felt like the first 4 episodes went nowhere with the main character. I realize he is crazy I don't need to be beat over the head with it for 4 episodes. Sometimes I feel like they use the mental issues and drug problems as a crutch to do some experimental film making. Sometimes it works sometime it doesn't. They need to get a better feel on when to pump the brakes a bit.
It's obvious he is going for a fight club type of thing, but if you are going to do that you need to differentiate yourself in some way or it just becomes copying. So far we have almost every element from fight club. Split personality, therapy group, buildings collapsing, and even using the closing music from fight club. All we need is for him to kick his own arse and the circle is complete.
Another example of him copying is from Kubrick. He uses a lot of Kubrick style shots, which I am fine with, but in one scene in season one he also uses the same music from eyes wide shut. My point is that there is a difference between being influenced and just copying.

I agree with you on the difference between copying fight club and being influenced by it. But I disagree with your first paragraph about this season. I think I like the season a little more than other people and I feel like I view it differently than others because I've seen this same opinion that the show is going all in on elliot insanity and I don't view it that way.
It seems to me like the show is trying to get elliot to accept his mental condition. That he needs to accept that Mr robot is apart of his life and that they are the same person. That once he does that, he will be able to live his life the way he wants to. That's basically what these past two or three episodes have been about
Fwiw, I'll be pretty disappointed if this shows twist at the end of the season ends up that he's in an institution or prison

He did. In season one he was punching/choking Christian Slater and he goes on about "You know how weird this looks right now?" and he uppercuts him.

My other issue is this show really needs to establish a bad guy. There seem to be 2 at the moment, but neither seem that bad at the moment. The guy who is running the company seems to be the bad guy but he hasn't really done anything that bad yet.
They need to have him really establish that he is a piece of shite. Maybe they are trying to keep it real by making him appear to have some good and some bad, but so far it is kind of anticlimactic as far as a true villain is concerned.

True, but he is more of a side villain. E corp is the main villain right now, but they don't really have a person that attracts your anger at this point in time. They need to have that guy do something nasty soon to establish he is truly evil.

The Craig Robinson plot line confuses me. So he knew Elliot would turn him in when he gave him access to the computer, but he let him do it anyways?
What am I missing?

Craig Robinson never looked at the site. His wife, a coder, set it up and he collected checks. It wasn't until Eliot came along that he decided to peak at it.
He was now comfortable with getting out but the money was too good.
If you read the link I posted a few pages back about the fall of the Silk Road, something similar pops (not in events or timeline obviously) but owner of the Silk Road as massive libertarian and had to do abunch of backwards justification for his actions. He basically turned into a ruthless ceo/mob boss because of the power and money.
Edit: it's pretty legit that they laid out that Elliot was in jail in first episode and stayed with it. This show/season is probably better one binge watch but I am locked in.
