So it’s kind of a comedy… where there’s a group of bros and this one dude *SWEARS* he’s faster with a knife than a gun draw…

I feel like it was kinda “westerny”(?) and at the end, the dude actually does it..

IIRC, The buddies argue that he “can’t cover that much distance fast enough!” But at the end he does.

eta: It may have been fully westerny, can’t remember exaclty

Wasn't that a scene in The Magnificent Seven?

James Coburns character in the Magnificent Seven. Come on man.

Edit: Or Bun Yun Kim (sp) played that character in the Denzel version that came out a few years ago. But it was basically the same scene.

Maybe you are thinking of El Dorado with John Wayne and others? James Caan's character is nicknamed "Mississippi" and meets Wayne when he kills a guy in a saloon in a knife vs. gun draw.

It was kinda the same feel as Mag7, but it was kind of a Chris Evans type character(?) who claims he can win a gunfight by closing the gap really quickly… and it goes on through the movie with his buddies razzing him the whole time

At the end, they’re out of bullets and dude is all like, “I can get to him…” (said about the bad guy threatening them)

It was from Justified - one of the Crowe relatives from Florida tried against Raylan and lost.

Ok, maybe you should have clarified that some, then

Because it's kinda like asking:
hey, there's a movie- it's got a big popcorn epic movie feel- where they have to fly down this trench and drop a bomb at the end, to blow up the enemy base. They have to worry about pulling up in time, but the main character says "no, I got this". They gonna drop an unguided bomb, because there's too many defenses to use regular weapons.
And when it happens, the guy does it without using the targeting computer, just goes by feel.
Oh yeah, the guy who does it- he's motivated by his father, he wants to live up to his father's legacy, but doesn't fully understand what happened and why. So there's that subplot through the whole movie, before we get to that point.

And then not saying "it's not Star Wars" in the original post.

(answer is Top Gun Maverick, btw)

Only takes 1.5 seconds for an attacker with a knife to close a distance of 21 feet.

Most people don't have 1.5 or less draw.
