Anyway, yall nailed it on the first page with Juno, Napoleon Dynamite, and Donnie Darko. I can't stand all 3 of those.

And I will killed for this one, but I have seen people on here call him one of the greatest villains of all time and I disagree big time. I still like the movie but I think in keeping with the theme of this thread, he is definitely overrated:

i thought he was awesome. as did most.
i think people in general just throw around the term "best ever" way too much.
its funny how the "best ever" anything, whether it be actor, villian, etc. has all happened in the past ten years.

She's cute, and a decent actress. Doesn't change the fact that the movie is mediocre but people acted like seeing it was the key to happiness and zen.

Not the key to happiness and zen, but Cody's screenplay was pretty damned good. Hadn't really been anything exactly like it before, and that's a hell of an accomplishment in Hollywood. As far as Ellen Page is concerned, I'm pretty confident she'll have a very good career. She's got chops. Finally, it's not like I have a hard on for this movie or the character, but it's odd that the "character" of Juno would be discussed as either overrated or underrated. The movie got the cred . . . not so much Juno as an enduring character. It's not like Nicholson's Joker in Batman or Pacino's Scarface.

Can you believe I actually used that many keystrokes on a subject I really don't give a rat's arse about?

Exactly. He was a good villain. But I don't think he belongs in the best ever talk. Therefore, I throw him in the overrated discussion.

I get the dislike of the man, but Wooderson was genius IMO. This was about the only great thing he's ever done, and it was brilliant.

I didn't say it was a bad movie, i like it! i just think Denzel's character is totally overrated! He got soooo much praise, and even a fricking oscar for god's sake, I just didn't get what all the hype was about

I laughed at his character zero times the first time I saw it and every time subsequent to that, yet people quote it all the time and point to it as his greatest work. I thought it was fricking stupid and almost messed up an otherwise great movie
