I thought The Road was extremely silly. Hillcoat is overrated.

Cries and Whispers
Autumn Sonata
Harakira
La Strada

What about Cast Away? No one thought that was depressing.

Funny People.

Adam Sandler's character in there was one of the saddest, reprehensible people I have ever seen. I just felt bad the entire time.

The Road is easily the most depressing to me.

I've read the thread, and some of you guys need to learn the difference between a depressing movie and a depressing end to a movie.

Some of you need to learn the difference between a depressing ending to a movie and an uplifting close to a franchise.

Also to keep with the Pixar theme, Up was most depressing start of a movie I've seen.

I was reading through this thread and waiting for someone to post this. The organ donor thing didn't really bother me, but that last scene where the older lady questions whether they had souls just stayed with me for the longest time that I still can't quite get over it.

Flowers in the Attic. Horrible, horrible film and made me want to kill myself at the end of it.

I watched this a couple years ago remembering how great of a movie it was. Upon review it seemed pretty bad, over the top dramatic, shaky acting. Maybe just a sign of the times, but kinda disappointed.
